Stan AF Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Time for us to ditch offies & bring leg spinners into the test team.

If only, but hope springs eternal. At the moment, however, it seems the only way we might be treated to Saha keeping in New Zealand is if New Zealand's pace attack sorts it out for us :-( ... a bit like Australia did in the ODIs, but there it was unfortunately KL Rahul and not Saha :-( ... In hindsight, it was clear the team management was planning to keep Saha on the bench, because they called for an early draw in the practice match just because Saha got going in the second innings :-( If only Saha had gone full IPL-final mode and brought up a few milestones before TM could stitch him up ... if only ... It would be cruel to just write off the kid after one failed series. He has technical issues but those can be worked on. agreed not fair to write off someone after one game Kohli failed his 1st overseas tour in WI but dhoni gave him all 3 games. He has issue but who doesnt ?? Mayank has it , balls still sneak through pujara defence, vihari has it . If Shaw wont be given a fair run then same will happen with gill, thats how this TM has developed a pattern and this pattern shud end. Shaw might fail in 2nd test but so can gill . Im not saying gill doesnt deserve ...he deserves a place but this pattern needs to end. Edited February 24, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03 ganeshran 1
Nikola Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) I feel gill's future is at playing 3 or 4. So he should already start playing at 5 or 6 from now. In few years time he will spot at 3 or 4. He could be successful as opener but then it's risking your best player/talent to send as opener in test cricket. Edited February 24, 2020 by Nikola

Yep, given the team's preparation with the bowlers all lacking any penetration, I would say India will not win the 2nd test match. Hoping Dada would sack Bewda after this, but I am not holding my hopes high with bated breath (I know deep inside he despises Bewda and likes to get rid of him).
express bowling Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 (edited) 1. Mayank 2. Gill 3. Pujara 4. Kohli 5. Rahane 6. Jadeja 7. Pant 8. Ishant 9. Saini 10. Shami 11. Bumrah ---- Batsmen are in poor form and lacking application ... it is better to bolster the fast bowling ... play 4 fast bowlers, give them smaller spells and tell them to go flat out. Our only hope is to get them out cheaply. ---- Gill's great form with the bat needs a to be utilized. ---- Ashwin is a total waste outside the SC. Jadeja is as bad with the ball but gives a better batting option and fielding option. ---- Pant at 7 gives us much better batting depth. Stan AF Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Not interested. Don't think these fellows will win.

No point of the spinners in these conditions. That means ur fast bowlers will have to bowl around 22 overs a day and as we knw NZ wkts get flat after day 2 have gh chance opp might bat 1.5 day in that scenario bowlers will be exhausted n will resort to bowling with less intensity. This idea can work in Sa n eng where pitches have so much spice all days that teams can get bundled around 250 in all innings but not in Nz
bowl_out Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Gill for Vihari Jadeja for Ashwin Umesh for Bumrah diehardpacer 1

Can't give up .... 60 points on the table .... my preferred team (from those in the squad ) Agarwal Shaw Pujara Kohli Gill Pant - (looked among the best batsmen, along w/ Agarwal .... both of them positive players) Ashwin/Jadeja Ishant Shami Saini Bumrah No point in strengthening the batting with weak/struggling batmen Additional bowler to go for 20 wkts (missing Pandya here, who can bat with an aggressive mindset) If possible, fly Pandya in (if fit) Come on India Gill Mayank Pujara Kohli Grahame Vihari Pant Ishant Saini Shammi Bumrah Spinners have not been successful and if one pacer (saini)doesn't get to play than I prefer ashwin ashwin as he could take wickets ..jaddu is now a batsman and restrictive bowler on such pitches.
