Ankit_sharma03 Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 (edited) Aakash chopra once told a story why a phase came when foreign coaches were preferred as Indian coaches werent able to provide proper solution to the problem and had no emphasis on Fitness. But Post 2005 Indian coaches evolved with guys like lalchand rajput, robin singh, amre , dravid ...they got more professional and worked with international teams as well. Looking at next decade , lets see some options who can work in Indian setup which also means A team 1. Abhishek nayar- Having high praise from Domestic players n KKR players he looks to be making a solid case for himself. DK wrote how he helped him with his concentration. He work can be seen in KKR videos. 2. Amre- Already have been working with many Indian batsman and IPL teams 3. Abhishek Mazumdar n Sairaj bahutale have been closely working with RR players , im yet to hear feedback on them 4. Zaheer khan - have been working with MI n Delhi for years now 5. Nehra- also have been closely working in coaching for various IPL teams 6. Chanderkant pandit- who won Vidarbha back to back tittle and regd very highly among domestic players 7. Kaif- already working with Dc, understand modern cricket and has good man management skills Anyone else ? Edited September 12, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03 Stan AF and Gollum 1 1

maniac Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Mark my words Yuvraj will be a fantastic coach at the junior level. He should eventually take over from Dravid. Don’t think he can translate it to senior level though because there will be Inevitable egos involved and don’t think Yuvraj will sustain there given his own explosive personality. However I think chief selector role will and should eventually go to him. What I like about Yuvraj is he also identifies & backs players outside his state and region unlike say someone like Bhajji. I feel he has a lot of value to add, but lacks the motivation to do the job fulltime. He is ideal to be a mentor and part-time consultant however. BCCI needs to get over its control freakiness about that sort of arrangement and be more open to it. They can definitely afford to.

NameGoesHere Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Excellent thread. However, useless non-contributor that I am, I can't help but suggest Ravi Shastri's belly as the next gen coach. It can teach batsmen how to take 10 shots in under 10 minutes, It can teach spinners to stop walking the ball in a straight but suddenly turn (stumble) square every now and then. It can teach pacers to swing (jiggle) like a 70s disco. And it's probably carrying the next generation of talent anyway. Gestation period 5 years. maniac, Stan AF, OpeningBatsman and 1 other 4

Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 17, 2020 Author Posted October 17, 2020 this is what i hate about Indian coaches they bring same conservative mindset bangar was our batting coach and once proudly admitted in commentary that he asked KL rahul to bat slowly for his 25-30 runs while selection it has to be seen they dont bring same mindset
