Ok not the ideal start for Bumrah but there are some good signs. The pace is back. Just needs to recover the old unpredictability factor with his yorkers and slower ones.

From mid 2017 to late 2019, before Bumrah got injured, he was bowling much more wicket taking lines and lengths. And we were seeing lots of away going or straighter balls on the 4th stump.

After coming back from injury ... apart from the 2nd test in NZ, he has bowled defensive lines and lengths.

Needs to go back to what he was doing pre-injury.

4 slower balls by Bumrah in his last over.

Overdoing slower ones makes bowlers predictable, anyway he needs some gametime to get to old self, needs not to take too much of load of his recent bad form

Pace is there just needs his confidence back, good that he has gone through the pump early in the tournament

liked Boom's pace but he was not too good in the last over that he bowled.

bowled slow balls and He was hit badly.

Players now have found a way out to tackle his slower ones , This was started by NZ team this year and now even FAF did that today.

Get outside the off on the back foot and make runs vs slower ones as all his slower ones pitch outside the off stump and they are able to guess it more often.

Against Yorkers they keep it out and get singles .Also perhaps he has lost a bit zip post injury . Need to come with a counter plan.

UAE pitches aren't made for slower deliveries. Abu Dhabi was two paced. Need to hit the deck hard and get that spongy variable pace and bounce out of the pitch. Ball hardly spun yesterday.

Bumrah needs to go for wickets, like he did from mid 2017 to late 2019.

In the last over yesterday, he was trying to stop runs, which is not possible these days unless you take wickets.

Bumrah's formula in the end overs used to be 3 or 4 quick yorkers with an aim to take wickets ... with a couple of slower balls and bouncers as variations. The potentially wicket taking yorkers were missing yesterday.
