Ajantha Mendis - Bowled one of the best spells in IPL. Not sure whether he plays domestic cricket now.

he is not an obscure IPL player. Remember how he had an international season when he was running through our ATG line up match after match.

I guess Joginder name didn’t belong in Austin’s list either as he will always be a trivia question as part of  one of the most iconic moments in Indian history.

Ajantha probably did well against everyone at his peak. Got into their test side as well if I recall correctly. But when the wickets dried for him at international level after couple of years, the analysts said the novelty was no more.

Idk if these will make the list but these are ones i remember from 2012-14 period:

  • Aditya Tare (for hitting that six in must win match)
  • Corey Anderson (i remember his 90 odd innings very well, did very good in that season for MI)
  • Jesse Ryder (used to be my fav player for PWI back then)
  • Lendl Simmons (used to play till few years ago and was consistent)
  • Santokie (had round arm action i guess, i don't think he did really well but he was something different)

Good List. Though Lendl Simmons was backbone of Mumbai for long time.

Unmukt Chand anyone? That Brett Lee yorker on 1st ball of IPL 2013 broke him mentally and could never recover.

Also, Alex Hales who hardly played in IPL.

Manpreet Gony - tall medium pace bowler who could also bat a bit, played for CSK. He even played a few matches for India.

Another one I can think off is Rahul Sharma - the tall leg spinner. He had good potential, played for India in few matches but drug/rave party incident screwed his career.

Yes, he played for India too! And he had achieved what he did overcoming some muscular disorder/partial paralysis. A promising player ruined by drugs.
