ICF's Preview

This is the 1st edition of IPL since its inception that CSK has not made it to the playoffs. Being the most consistent team in IPL history, this season must have been tough for its fans and players. They need to endure 2 more matches of pain this season and come better prepared 5 months later. Some confidence must have boosted on the CSK camp after beating RCB in the last game. Though this is a dead rubber for CSK, a lots at stake here for Morgan led KKR. A loss here meaning they are almost out of the tournament and win would still keep their hopes alive (with 14 points). Andre Russel's injury is a big concern for KKR and it looks like he will take no more part in this IPL. But KKR will take comfort from the return of form for Shubhman Gill and will once again rely on its trump card Varun Chakravarty.

Key Players

How will CSKs win affect other playoff teams here?. It's all myriad now.

KKR not looking like a playoff side so far. SRH, KXIP have some convincing thumping wins under their belt and have made a credible case for playoffs. But so far kkr has looked insipid and blown mostly hot and cold.

KKR needs to get it's batting and bowling order right.

Ferguson needs to open with or without Cummins.

DK needs to come at no.5 or no.6.

Picking both Prasidh and Nagarkoti and giving them 2 overs each is not helping. Better pick a bowler or an all-rounder instead of one of those two.

They're staring at another loss anyway..:sad:

One of the best ways to make the tournament interesting in Group B - CSK, K11, KKR & RR:

* CSK beats KKR today

* RR beats K11 tomorrow

So the final game is a must win KO for 3 of the teams in KKR v RR & CSK v K11 (esp. if SRH remains on 12 or less points. Plays RCB & MI at S”jah)

I think potential wise top two teams this IPL are MI & KXIP( they got the players)

DC & RCB are pretty much same level & have to punch above their weight to beat above two.

KKR is decent but not able to find right slot & combination..  Same case with RR.

Rest are more or less mediocre.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1 Shubman Gill, 2 Nitish Rana, 3 Rahul Tripathi, 4 Dinesh Karthik (wk), 5 Eoin Morgan (capt), 6 Sunil Narine, 7 Rinku Singh, 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Kamlesh Nagarkoti, 10 Lockie Ferguson, 11 Varun Chakravarthy

Chennai Super Kings:1 Ruturaj Gaikwad, 2 Shane Watson, 3 Ambati Rayudu, 4 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 5 N Jagadeesan, 6 Ravindra Jadeja, 7 Sam Curran, 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Deepak Chahar, 10 Karn Sharma, 11 Lungi Ngidi

3 Spinners for CSK. Spinconda spun by Dhoniconda. And Lungi dance is back.
