Jadeja - Match winner or looser?

Getting him back to the ODI side for the 2018 Asia Cup in UAE was where the TM began dismantling the successful pair of KulCha. For a 18 months, both our attacking spinners owned the middle overs. But the TM wanted to see runs from the tail. End result- we have regressed as a LOI team since then, have nearly derailed the career of Kuldeep and Chahal could soon follow suit. All this because Jadeja can score some runs!

I like Jaddu as a cricketer, gives everything to the team but that alone is not enough for LOIs. He does not take wickets and only occasionally makes runs. In a 5 bowler attack, that's not good enough.

A hapless captain of one of the most fanatic cricket nations today stated Pandya cannot bowl & in his absence there are no muti dimensional cricketers available. India's only hope is if the scouts at MI can unearth another couple of dynamic players for our set up because selectors obviously don't have a clue.

Until then Jadeja will keep his place.

For LOIs, he is at best okay to have in the squad to fill in for a game or two as an injury replacement, that's it. Dismantling Kulcha for this fraud is a travesty. I hope Kuldeep is picked for the next game in place of Jaddu.

Aap chronology samajhiye:winky:

IPL2019 Kuldeep ka rona toh bahana tha

Iss fraud Jadeja ko jo laana tha

I mean his crying episode was overblown and was portrayed as mental midget,a word common these days

T20 cricket, who doesn't gets hit

evn in 50overs bowlers get belted we need to get over this

Chahal got fecked up so many times but why isn't he seen through the same eye

My question is about his intent while batting. I can easily remember many matches where he played without any intent which he could have possibly won if he would have played more positively.

I believe all can agree Jadeja is not a guy who will hit from ball 1 or even after 10-15 balls. That's why his batting is effective in Tests but not for limited late order hitting. He has never been a big hitter in over decade of IPL.

In addition he useful in setting targets, I haven't got stats, but normally seen him at ease when India batting 1st innings, because less pressure, which case for most late order batters.

TM probably pick Jadeja for crisis management if top and middle order collapses where plenty of overs left to bat, he is not your man to help chase totals with Required RPO at 10+ with > 10 overs left, which unfortunately happened today.

this is revisionism when dhoni/raina/kaif played at 6 and won us matches in the past.

even if our lower order wasn't always world class, there is no reason to just ignore it forever. jadeja had his time to prove himself as matchwinner in last 11 yrs. its time to move on and try someone else. even if no one manages to prove themselves, there is no harm in trying out if jaddu is going to fail anyways

agree, that's where current captain moron, selectors and TM lack vision - they keep mixing up his Test success with limited overs, Jadeja was never a good T20 or ODI player for the role of late order power hitter, especially when required RPO is over 10

Hahaha no comments! I have given up on him. Indians like safe bets, and Jadeja will be the safe 'bet' Indian fans and selectors can't get past by.  Problem is that with population of 1.3 billion, how can we happy with safe players in our playing 11
