Mate, no matter how flat the wicket is, you just cannot concede 380+ every match. 330-340 would have put India in the gane. No team can chase 380 totals, not even England(maybe once every 10 matches).

Im in Australia. The commentators here are so laid back and funny. In India, though I enjoy it as I get to learn a lot about Indian cricket.

The way Bumrah and co bowled, not to mention Smith's form, the total would be chased in 40 overs

Both the matches, we did score 300. Our bowlers however bowled like minnows. Almost impossible to chase 350 let alone 390. Just does not happen. May be 1 out of 10 matches like that SA v Aus 2006 match or the other one SA scored I think against SL.

Eng definitely, NZ is our bogey side but Aus & Ind are neck to neck. Both have almost similar issues.

I would say from India's PoV Eng, NZ, Aus=Ind

We lost in England 1-2 in 2018.

 

We won against Aus without Warner/ Smith in 2018. Look at India without Sharma here.

 

We did well in SA in 2017-18 with Kulcha factor still new.

 

We won in NZ in 2019 but lost 0-3 in 2020. So no improvement there as well.

All young players need to be groomed to help them realise their potential. Under this captain-coach combo, not one young player has prospered. You could one or two players and fault them for their attitude, but when it happens to almost all youngsters, it points to a rotten leadership and team setup.

 

Something many of us realised back in Jan-Feb 2019 when random decisions were bring made. The cancer has only got further deep rooted since then and has nearly derailed our cricket

For starter, select a proper XI. Pandya was not fit to bowl. Jadeja is not a bowler in these flat tracks. Should have played Kuldeep as Chahal is struggling since NZ tour.

 

Better captaincy and bowling plans and not just gun barrel straight to Aussie openers.
