Can play as a batsman at 6 and bowl occasional 115K off cutters till he finds his bowling mojo or if that would hurt his back can continue as a bat, right now earned his place as a batsman alone.

One thing I have noticed though he seemed to have lost some steam towards the end overs due to fitness and not being used to bat for such long duration.

 

Cricket you need to have the speed and athleticism of a sprinter but also the endurance of a marathon runner.

He should have been a fixture at #5 in the ODI side since 2018.  He would have "delivered" plenty of times.  But we were carrying a batting liability back then.  At least we don't have that burden in there anymore.

its basically the bowling- Even if he stands wide of off stump there wud always be that spot that u cant hit, Aussies found that spot and is able to hit the accurately. Other teams are just not accurate, Similar thing happened to Dhoni. When he bludgned SL but struggled in right very next series against SA coz they found his spot of bother which everyone can but only top bowlers are good enough to hit it accuratley coz the one ball u dont he ll smash u for six. Aussies , Old SA bowlers were always good to tame power hitter coz of this accuracy. Pandya will have to come up with counter plan soon

The thing is it happened with Dhoni pretty late in his career, when he was almost done. Pandya is just starting out and he needs to address that issue & find an alternative, may be reverse like Maxwell.

In this praise for Pandya we must not forget, it was Jadeja's late assault which was clincher in the end. Pandya was really restricted in the last 10 overs apart from one Abbott over.

even at start post his 183 SL series when SA came home they targetted into his body hard length giving him no room and he failed in that series . But when dhoni changed his game this area worked out

I only remember Dhoni restricted in later part of his career by that line.Teams bowl that wide line to choke the batsman, not to get them out. Last match & today, Pandya had no answers to negate that.

NA check that Sa series score card which is where yuvi career took off from almost being dropped from team. 

Apart from Aussies n SA none had that kind of bowling to hold him so this didnt get to exposed

Guy has been consistently clocked in the 135-142 range, has bowled full quote of overs in ODIs so many times.  Has a better ODI and T20 bowling record than Ben Stokes.  And you are describing him as he were someone like Virat Kohli bowling a few "off cutters".

This line works against most batsmen. Wide Yorker is a norm nowadays.

I remember that series but am particularly talking Dhoni not being able to hit freely because balls were not given in his "zone" & he had to contend with wide yorkers. 

I hope Pandya works out a plan to counter those tactics of opposition.

Ofcourse, but Aussies batsmen countered that in the first two games with innovative shots, some reverse flicks, some late guides. 

If you are only getting shackled by the wide yorkers it's an issue.

This is where I find Pandya very similar to Dhoni in hitting. No nonsense, pure hitters of ball. But if you ball to the weak zone, they struggle because lack of inventivenes.

Dude how old are you? I felt bad on an occasion when I thought I crossed a line after getting carried away and I like you as a poster so thought will be a better person and apologize.
