Under kohli's toxic leadership , our full strength team was underperforming for years, perhaps.  Without his influence, even a depleted Indian side has managed to keep a full strength Australian side at bay , going into the decider. 

 

Is this not proof enough that the Kohli era should well and truly be finished off and he should make it to the team only as a player?

Even I feel the same! Players just dont seem comfortable around the guy and end up playing below their capacity. Maybe he played the first test out of cumpulsion but shouldn't even have played it. A new captain, albeit a temporary one, needs to transition as early as possible, not after a game has been already played in the series. From 0-1 down, Rahane has done an amazing job of keeping team morale up and the games lost still at only 1. Ashwin has played an excellent leadership role with his pep talks and an incredible Houdini act in this game. Imagine Kohli in the dressing room when Pant got out. He would have hurled some MC-BC abuses and brought the team morale down.

If anything this series has shown its about team work and not names or superstars

Exactly..  Kohli brings negativity & choking influence & duniya bhar ki panauti into the side.  Those catches would've been taken by Aussies if he was in the side.
