That's what I was talking about..  These are very very poor numbers..  The amount of hate Rahane gets is really astonishing.  Pujara is the one who should be under the pump especially when a gun player like Mayank is warming the bench who has outscored him in WI NZ & at home.

just because Pujara is escaping criticism doesn’t mean Rahane should be praised. He has not set the stage on fire either.

Agree but he is the highest scorer for us in current WTC with an average of 46..  He hasn't set the stage on fire but he has done well at home vs SA & BD & in WI.

At least he is performing randomly.

On the basis of two test failures in Aus..  Mayank is benched despite being the highest run scorer for us in last calendar year...  Isn't that unfair on the guy.

The way Stokes is failing here had it been any indian batsmen overseas they would have called all sorts of name...... That is why Rohit should get his due credit.

He is failing with bat, chirping unnecessary, giving all sorts of reaction, gets caught using Saliva on the ball.. he has become a drama queen

fair point. We have put ourselves  in this situation. Now if Gill is dropped it will be unfair on him after 2 failures. It might kill his confidence.

Shaw already seems mentally done.

This TM selections seem to be on instinct than a proper plan. It worked out in Australia though but it is not sustainable.

My honest opinion is that he has his value in test matches but we can definitely move on from him and build for the future.

Right now, or probably even towards the end of 2021-22 we don't have a ready made replacement for him. Like for like Vihari is the closest but Gill's probably a much better option at that number 3 spot. Pujara, Rahane will bow out in the next few years - probably much before Kohli & if Vihari can get better with the big scores he'll be a regular along with Gill.

Even if Stokes flops with bat and ball, he should keep playing. This guy can make things happen and he gives a 100% every time in everything he does. Once in a Gen player regardless of the results this series.

Without Mayank team is looking little  light on batting at home..  Rohit alone is like half of the team.  Rest of the guys are either inept or unreliable..  Good thing is Pant is in great form.

You have a point here. Agarwal is a wonderful player against spinners as well.

But what about in Pujara we trust, he is the best Batsman India has ever produced and all ? He can take body blows because thats the best way to play fast bowling to win matches for India and he can run to half the pitch to negate the spin as that way spinners go out of the game.

I am no Pujara hater or fan. Like his determination and value for his wicket but do not enjoy his stroke play. My honest opinion is that he has his value in test matches but we can definitely move on from him and build for the future. I think Gill or another younger player needs to take the no.3 spot.

Same fans will turn on him in no time when Eng tour happens..  People have very short memory.

Pujara has technical & timing issues..  He used to be good at spin but not anymore.  Lyon looked like he'll get him out anytime..  He was hopping & jumping every time he was facing.  I have a feeling it will be Tata good bye on Eng tour.

Why are people complaining about the pitch? It’s not turning square and there’s good carry on this pitch.

Most of the wickets have been off straight balls, bowled or lbw

Anyone complain about pitch deserves to be sent to a concentration camp.

Green mamba that seams is the same as a turning pitch that Tuan from day 1.

England should just shut the f up and play.
