Possibility of corruption by " foreign experts" in the IPL franchise selection panel.

I am the last person to believe in conspiracy theories, but some of the utterly non-brainless foreign player selections at astronomical prices makes me wonder if 

there is a "setting"  between the " gora experts" and foreign player(s).

 

Technically speaking  since there is a bidding process more  one "expert" each from 2 franchises need to be involved to keep bidding up the price to the levels we have seen last few years and especially this year for totally non-deserving players.

 

Given that franchise owners suffer from " safedi ki chamkaar" , this is a decent possibility.

I wouldn't rule it out. The money involved is yuge. The MO is perfectly legal albeit unethical. Chances of getting caught are minimal unless the parties involved in the arrangement are dumb enough to fight over percentages and ruin their reputation beyond repair. As long as franchises are lazy and look for safedi ki chamkaar instead of talent scouting local bowlers like Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, Natatajan etc., this big bucks fueled bs will continue.

Have said it before. Astronomical

sums means nothing. A 15 mn player might get only paid 10 mn depending on how many matchdays he was part of the squad and how many matches they actually played. Easy eg is players like Cotterel who didnt play i think last 5 matches. So he ll only get 2/3 of his millions plus some formula based money. Franchisees know that and so they dont mind splashing as they know only 4 foreigners get to play.

Are u sure they get paid according to their matchdays??

Managers of these players will be constantly in touch with various ipl teams trying to get the gigs for their players. I won't be surprised if some of them actually pay some % to these experts/scouts of teams to get in good word on their players. They are like job consultancies in a way.

 

In the end its just the dumb franchise owners who get swindled so I am not too worried about it. If they are actually passionate about their teams, they should spend more time educating themselves on the game and do some independent homework as well instead of blindly listening to the experts. MI management for example always does proper homework and don't go crazy in the auctions. They use scouts wisely and unearth lot of local talents as well which is why they are so dominant

And this "good word(s)" is the grey area under whose umbrella corruption is a strong possibility.

I think they have to pay for them even if they are on the bench, as long as they make themselves available

Or you can go the CSK route of not going to the auctions at all and select washed up players like Pujara, Uthappa in addition to Watson, Faf not to mention the last ball six guy

Think that the payment is pegged to availability and not actual selection into the squad.
