With Bevan, it does not necessarily mean not having the ability to accelerate when it matters but being able to play clutch innings in pressure situation. Even in T20s, you can afford to have a player like that. Iyer can accelerate enough when required and has shown the composure to handle pressure situations and play clutch knocks. This is exactly what the greatness of Bevan is known for because he did it day in and day out. He played in the same era as Klusenar, was not as attacking as him either but ended up as a greater finisher of the game because he could come up at 22-5 and chase down 230 totals with quite ease. Ankit_sharma03
Klusner, bevan all were finishers who mostly batted at 6,7 and iyer will be mostly at 4,5 when he plays so comparison shud be made with players who batted at those places At 4,5 we need guys like ABDV, KP, Lara, yuvi and we already have pant n KL . Once gill improves his attacking game which he will , he ll be a big contender for 3,4 Link to comment
Majestic
Changing the complexion of the match in a big game with two individual excellence on field. Under pressure situation, he has always been good. Symptoms of Bevan indeed! Edited October 10, 2021 by Majestic Link to comment

Bevan is awfully underrated. He would have crushed it in this era. Stats are meant to be interpreted. Link to comment
