Lungs are not damaged that badly if steroids are administered at the right time.

 

The seriousness of his disease, and the treatment he received, would be vital.

These new UK and Indian double mutant both are creating serious damage even in young people. Steroids are not given unless symptoms are serious. Symptoms only become severe when lungs are damaged.

According to Covid protocol, steroids are given when SpO2 goes below 94, not given in mild cases. Below 94, people need oxygen. Below 90, hospitalization and ventillator.

I think you are talking about injecting steroids in larger doses.

 

Oral steroids are often started in small doses between the 5th to 7th day for many other patients.

People DO NOT need oxygen below 94. In fact it can fluctuate upto 92 for regular patients. Even around 85+ does not require hospitalization. 

 

I know people whose oxygen levels dropped to 50 and 60 and recovered without being hospitalized at all.

Sorry misquoted, they were given oxygen but did not require hospitalization. They recovered within a day or 2

Main Purpose of hospitalization is oxygen.

the body doesnt remain same for some time.

Deepak chahar had issue last season

Ruturaj also did and fleming n dhoni spoke about it. Same with devdutt this yr 

 

We dnt even know Prasidh has mild or severe symptoms.

Depends on the severity of symptoms.

 

My Uncle has almost recovered from Covid and he was given small doses of oral steroids for 10 days, starting from the 5th day of his symptoms appearing.

 

This resulted in his lungs being only mildly affected although he had lots of symptoms for 12 days.

 

He did not need O2 support at all and home treatment was sufficient.

hmm differs, in cases i have seen - even if mild if the patient has comorbidities they do give steroids - i have seen this with my family.
