I don't see how what Twitter does should matter. Why such huge egos associated with that blue tick. It's a private company just ignore it.

Its not a matter of ego. Question is are they platform or editors.  The status of intermediary should be stripped off and rest can be managed.

To put in perspective, including bot accounts 40 million active accounts in India. Less than 5% of total population.

The hara-kiri with VP, Mohan Bhagawat notwithstanding, the obsession with blue-ticks among Indian twitterrati is toxic, they treat others  as untouchables with upper status. Indians were always status conscious.

Twitter has come up with a policy of banning content and individuals based on Indian administration request in India.

So they remain twitter users but they will be censured be in India

Will that be enough?

I thought they said they won’t block tweet and users in India because they wanted FOE. So earlier when GoI requested to block something, they would not do anything if it didn’t broke what they saw as their rule wasn’t broken.

However, their are some glaring issues with twitters current policy in India which is, its enforcing its own rule. What if a Indian twitter handle is being blocked by twitter on pretext of its breaking twitter rules but it does not contravenes Indian Government policy towards blocking handles.
