Temples already do all that. eg. Sringeri Math runs many free/subsidized hospitals and schools in South India. Same with Kanchi Math in TN, Ramakrishna Math in Bengal though in their case they have petitioned to be declared non-Hindu to combat govt control.

Good work from Sikh body.

The PR dept of above temple work needs to learn more, they don’t publicize their work, and people read such headlines and think that only churches and gurdwaras do charity work. Our temples were a bedrock of economy, giving jobs to artisans, teachers, jewelers, artists and promoting literary work culture as well. With British era law that took over the temple Mgmt, and later by Congress and successive Govts, we have lost that piece that helped build the society.

Such a nice gesture, needs to be celebrated. Also any such acts from muslims should also be widely appreciated these things will lead to reconciliation and harmony. Can Hindu temples do this, not sure they are under govt control right, they are not allowed to think for themselves since they are Hindus, but am sure many rich temples will do this if they are allowed.
