This is my choice of best batsman on bad wickets, not true for test cricket in order of merit. It only considers ability and performances on wickets untrue or pitches unfit for test cricket.

.Rohan Kanhai

.Ian Chappell

.Brian Lara

.Majid Khan

Gundappa Vishwanath

.Alan Border/Javed Miandad

.Steve Waugh

.Rahul Dravid

.Sachin Tendulkar/Sunil Gavaskar

.Viv Richards

.Martin Crowe

.Salim Malik /Aravinda De'Silva

.Mohinder Amarnath

Rohan Kanhai was simply sublime who could transcend zones in batting no one could. His 77 in Leeds was a classic example  or his century at Port of Spain against England .No cricketer was more determined or gutsy as Ian Chapell who majestically combated the trickiest of conditions whether in India,England or West Indies.Brian Lara's artistry came to the fore on even broke wickets at Barbados when he scored an unbeaten match-wining 153 in 1999 against Australia. On wet pitches in England Majid could overshadow  even Viv Richards or Greg Chappell like when scoring 156 at Worcester in 1969.against Glamorgan. His 1974 prudential trophy century at Old Trafford was too a classic .Vishwanath was genius personified  on bad wickets, and would even overshadow Sunil Gavaskar. His 2 70's at Dunedin in New Zealand in 1967-77 testify his mastery .Alan Border and Javed Miandad resembled surgeons performing an operation and soldiers when batting blending grit with exemplary skill.Steve Waugh shaped more win sin a crisis than any player of his day, particularly in West Indies and South Africa.Rahul Dravid won games for India on the most challenging tracks like his 148 at Leed sin 2002 or his 2 50's at Kingston in 2006.No Indian batsman arguably played the moving ball better than Dravid in 20011 in England. Gavaskar and Tendulkar played some masterpieces on broken wickets .Sunny's 96 at Bangalore in 1987 and 90 at Ahmedabad v West Indies  versus Pakistan  and Sachin's 136 at Bangalore v Pakistan in 199 are concrete examples.Viv Richards also played some gems n bad tracks like in Multan in 1980 when scoring 120 and an unbeaten 108 at Delhi in 1987-88.Salim Malik and Aravinda De Silva turned many a game for their country with outstanding innings in testing conditions.Martin Crowe could master any type of conditions and even on bad track could exude the grace of a ballad dancer.I can never forget Salim Malik's 99 at Leeds in 1987 or century on the same ground in 1992 as well as his fighting 68 at Trinidad in 1988. Aravinda's 66 in the 1996 world cup semi-final was a true gem.Mohinder Amarnath on the most hostile tracks could overshadow the very best of batsman like at Barbados in 1983 or Kingston in 1976.
