Arg squad is definitely older, so fitness not like 2016 when they were at their peak. Anyway they tend to struggle against Ind/Pak.

In boxing just going to SF means medal. Both losing SFists get bronze.

Bronze is guaranteed for both semi-finalist

 

There is no Bronze play off match in boxing.

Good to see so many of our athletes reaching the QFs today. A huge boost of confidence for the entire camp.

 

Hopefully the normally useless chief de mission and senior officials get our contingent together and cheer them up.

Sounds completely castist but feel Jats of Haryana, Northern Rajasthan and Western UP are definitely a different race. 

So much difference between them and other Indian castes even in the same region when it comes to Physical sports like Boxing, Wrestling, Kabaddi.

 

Having grown up in this region I have seen some insanely strong people. Most work in fields and a lot of them join Indian army.

China women team creates WR in 4×200 M free style swimming relay.

They have started beating Australians and Americans in Swimming as well.

Truly on the way to be a sports power house for next few decades.

This race was incredible to watch. USA was coming 4th, in fact almost 5th until the last lap and then came Katie Ladecky and took USA to 2nd, almost even beating China.

I don't get all these swimming events. They already have 4 types of strokes ... and then some random distances 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 etc. for each stroke. Then they have open swimming. Then they have team events. Swimming is meaningless IMO. Too many medals for one sport. That way in Weightlifting they should have 1 event for clean and jerk and another for snatch.
