Medals may be less, 5-6-7, but fighting performances and/or near misses in some events. I am confident this bodes for better future medal tally. We should do 20+ medals easily. Target should be Paris - 10 with 1-2 gold LA - 15 with 2-3 Brisbane - 20 with 3-4 And then eventually capitalize on a home olympics. I am 100% sure we will host before 2050. Next Olympics in Asia will be hosted by China (Shanghai?), 100% we won't win hosting rights against them. Then there are some Gulf countries who are eager to diversify their economy, maybe towards the end of the century when most of us will be too old to give a * (or dead ), Games will come to India. I just hope we are in a position to win 30-40 medals including 10 gold medals by then. Hope to see 4 varieties of cricket, 3x3/5x5/circle kabaddi, kho-kho etc. I want us to host Asian Games soon, haven't done so since 1982. Couldn't beat Doha (2006) and Incheon (2014) in the bids. You guys seriously think we can beat cities from North America, Europe, East Asia, Australia etc. any time soon. Anyway Asian Games till 2034 (Riyadh) has been booked. Let us hope to get one in 2038 or 2042, hopefully in a less polluted city (maybe develop a sports town in the vicinity of a city). Last thing we need is bad publicity like smog or polluted water body along the marathon route. No CWG please, don't even know why we take that joke competition seriously!!!!! I mean we'll soon become a first world country and hosting the Olympics is a sign of that. Korea, Japan, became a first world country afterwards. Same with China which is almost, not yet though.

They are still gonna grow for years to come.
