ravishingravi
Geo politically, I think this seals the future under China’s shadow. This move has basically nullified quad. From India’s perspective, it’s better to align with China and basically let China help mediate with Pakistan. At this moment, China has maximum leverage with Pakistan. It’s safe to say that US abandonment of Afghanistan, gives clear message to NATO, EU, Asian giants on where the winds are heading. Taiwan is all but gone btw. It’s done and dusted. If we seek growth of our people, we have to de-link with US more and more. Growth of our people is only possible with new alignments.

Real McCoy
From an Indian perspective, we should remain friendly with Afg whether or not its been ruled by Taliban. I don't think Taliban is that much friendly with padosis and we should emphasize this rather than indulge in western inspired outrage. As long as Afg is friendly with India, that's all that matters. It doesn't matter who is ruling it. We should remember how other nations nearby other than pak have treated us. They didn't go woke when Modi stepped in. I don't see Nepal, Bangladesh,Afghanistan or Iran complain about Modi being elected. We should respond in kind. Afghanistan is friendly towards us and has problems with the same country that is giving us headache. India should stop thinking taliban is the same as the terrorist groups aided by pak to attack us. Taliban is an entirely different group with its own interests. Who are we to decide what is best for Afghanistan. And its not like US stay in AFG improved the locals. It only grew poppy fields which was banned by the previous taliban regime. Anyone remember the opium wars of the 19th century by the brits. how is this any different. desis should stop following western media and its minions here in India

Every Afghan hates Pakistan. Every Afghan is either positive or neutral on India. That includes Talibanis in power. Even Talibans frndship with Pakistan is more down to compulsion. Its going to turn into another Yemen. US is at war with China. Now, The way peices of gepolitics are moving, Going out of Afghanistan is a masterstroke from the CIA. We will simply not even talk about Afghanistan. Its issue between China-Pak vs Russia-Iran. Now, US can concentrate on China.

Even Russia and China won't be that interested only for strategic gains maybe for the oil pipleline. We should remain the same. Its only Iran and Pakistan that are directly affected by this situation and Pakistan the most because Afghans hate what Pakistan has done to them. India should remain friendly as before and support Afghanistan on its Durrand line issue just like how paxtan argues aggressively about our border. We should also try using our diplomatic ties to ask them to support us on Kashmir as a reciprocal gesture which most Afghans already do.
