Bumrah lacks the killer instinct in his bowling to be a modern great.

There have a been 18-20 great fast bowlers in the last 20-30 years who would run through sides on the 5th day in clutch situations.

Bumrah just doesn't have a winners instinct or drive.

He will remain a good ODI death bowler. Nothing more.

What nonsense !

He just took 9 wickets in his last test.

Has taken 2 wickets so far and had a catch dropped off his bowling.

We have to remember that this pitch is a flat one where Shami and Bumrah have scored today. And we have reduced them to 113 for 7 in such a short time.

Talk some sense yourself

Bumrah went wicketless in the 1st innings when we scored 350+

Big effing deal he took 2 wickets. Siraj has done most of the damage when we needed it the most.

Big biased super nonsense.

Bumrah has taken 12 wickets in 2 tests in this series so far.

That is superb !

No one takes wickets every test innings.

Do you even watch test cricket !!

Bumrah's 5th day bowling performance was amazingly good today.

WTC Final was an aberration.

What kind of pessimism is this after such an amazing win !

Again, learn to READ.  This thread was created today MUCH before we won.

Bumrah's bowling performance today was good for a strike bowler,  not " amazingly good". You have pretty low standards if you think it was " amazingly" good.

WTC Final does not come everyday.  His impotence was the biggest reason we lost to NZ.  He was thoroughly outbowled by NZ seamers.. If Siraj played, the result would have been in our favor.

As our " premier"  strike bowler , expectations are higher from him.

Otherwise he is just another good fast bowler, nothing special.

All I am reading is amazing pessimism.

Bumrah should have got 4 wickets today on the flattest of flat pitches for just 33 runs from 15 overs.

Anybody who has actually watched him  bowl today knows how good he was.

If you look at strike rates in 4th innings in last 20 yrs, bumrah is certainly up there. Only"great" bowlers with better sr in 4th innings are Bond, Shami, Rabada and Akhtar

Its not pessimism dude.

Bumrah is supposedly our ace. I expect our ace to harrass the hell out of the opposition team on the 5th day and cut through them like a hot knife cuts through butter.

Think Mcgrath, Ambrose, Akram, Pat Cummins, Donald etc...

We had the luxury of alot of runs as buffer.

Just like Ashwin, Kumble and Co. would run through sides on a 5th day pitch in India.
