Apart from Hoggard, others were inconsistent, prone to leak runs. Anderson and Broad just wouldn't give anything away Simon Jones alone was better than both broad and Anderson combined but Unfortunately, his career was cut short due to an injury. kohli 1

Not really. Jones only dependent on reverse swing and old ball. Jones is not good enough to tie shoe laces of Anderson who is arguably the best swing bowler in cricket history. While Jones played just one debut test against India in 2002. Edited August 27, 2021 by rkt.india

Tendulkar didn't do anything special even in 2007. 4-5 batsmen outscored him. Even Kartik and Ganguly. So someone who averaged 65 in England before his last series didnt do anything special but someone who averages 32 is special?. Sigh. unfortunately Sachin only played 3 match series in England till 2007 and in his prime. Edited August 27, 2021 by New guy

So don't project Anderson as some great bowler only beacuse he dominated current lol batch and some old indian batch in 2011.. Just look at Anderson performance against other teams it's not as good as how this current batch and 2011 old batch made him look. kohli 1

Anderson has not lived up to the expectations in Asian tours, Australian tours, or ODIs where the conditions are largely neutral/batsmen friendly. His resume is fairly sparse, with the exception of a couple away tours where he performed as expected. raki05 1

Thats great of Kohli no denying as he was on his prime and out of 3 series he just performed once. All I am saying is Anderson performance against current lol batch should not project him as great bowler also his performance against old Tendulkar should be taken as pinch of salt. As Tendulkar has played and perfomed against much better bowler in his prime.

goose Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 (edited) Kohli is going through a slump. He will come back. I'm guessing many on his case now thought he was the best thing since sliced bread when he was on top form. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. Current Anderson is probably the best swing bowler cricket has ever seen. The kind of control he has in these conditions is absolutely out of the world. I think it is safe to say that Kohli will score way fewer than Sachin even against that nothing special attack. Against current Anderson, even Tendulkar would probably struggle but not as horribly as Kohli. Remember how Tendulkar completely cut out the cover drive to score a double hundred in Australia when he was out of form? He knows how to adapt, and more importantly, has the discipline to stick to the new strategy according to playing conditions. I don't see that in Kohli. He is making the same mistakes over and over again. nitinbwj 1

On Tendulkar, how many 17 years old or 25 years old scored century in debut series agains that eng attack. BTW Tendulkar has performed consistency in all series against eng barring 2011, he never looked like tailender like Kohli is looking now. nevada, nitinbwj and kohli 1 2

So no Tendulkar hasn't faced better bowlers than Anderson in England. Cricket is condition dependent sport. Even the best bowlers would look ordinary if conditions didn't help.

Now calculate what Kohli scored in first three tests in 2018. I think Kohli scored around 440 runs in first three tests last time. Tendulkar scored 401 in 2002 in 4 tests. We won the series and Tendulkar also was one of the performer. Tendulkar never performed like tailender kohli , Even Bumrah ,shami and Jadega scored more than him. And in 2014 even Bhuvi scored more than him. If he will play whole series there are high chance that Bhuvi and Shami will have more avg than him in eng. Now what you have to say about it.
ShoonyaSifar Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 Why has this thread become Sachin vs the clown? Should be about what clown can do to resurrect his failing career even though the chances are minimal. After the Australia tour Shastri was touted as having helped batsmen improve their technique, wonder why we hear no such stories of his competence as a batting coach any longer. raki05 1
