Shardul's batting innings - Video thread

One of the sights i enjoy in test cricket is good attacking batting and Shardul innings have that quality. He has a proper batsman quality 

 

• His straight drives are wowwww
• Cover drives are pretty good...........pretty pretty pretty good
• He plays pull n hook better then many of our upcoming batsman
• Pace n bounce doesnt hassle him
• He can step out n hits spinners

His straight drives are better to watch than many established batsmen ... Milord!

He likes bounce that is apparent now, if the conditions are good to bat he will capitalise. Do not expect such miracles if the conditions are akin to let's say first innings of Nottingham test this series. He plays on the up, so will edge some in swinging conditions. Also the teams will now come up with short ball strategy against him because he comes across as compulsive player of short ball.

 

But the most satisfying part about his batting was his skills against spinners, he played both of back & front foot & some shots against the spin.

He is just a clean,crisp hitter and aesthetically pleasing to watch.

Both Thakur & Gill will be pretty useful in South Africa..  Those are quick scoring grounds & with good bounce..  Their on the up shots & those pulls would be extremely handy.

Can he be considered as a proper allrounder for odis too? 

Having both him and Pandya will not only strengthen our lower order but also Pandya will finally feel the heat.

bowl him like u wud bowl to pollard, russell or pandya and its a huge compliment to him

Dnt let him freeze arms, have diff fields ...............no test match lengths unless its doing a lot 

Start playing on his patience

Really impressed with the way he played in 2nd innings. After that first innings, i thought he would get carried away and slog from ball 1, but he played very intelligently
