Maybe he was expecting to play in the Upcoming T20 World Cup and end on a high note but because he didn't get selected in the squad hence declared his retirement. 

 

The squad was announced just a couple of days ago.

He didn't maintain his weight at all. He developed a huge pot belly. A big liability on the field.  Bumrah definitely owes him and to some extent Mitchell JOhnson.

Bumrah was selected by MI at 19 for his Yorkers. He need not owe anything to anyone. He was selected based on his potential and skills.

Bumrah was bowling Yorkers at 19 for Gujarat winning them the tournament when John Wright, then MI scout, spotted him.

would you be open to the possibility that by the time Bumrah came in to the scene, Malinga was a big superstar and the benchmark for yorker bowling in international cricket and might have mentored or taken a youngster under his wing?

 

Is it such an out of box thought that you are arguing about it?

I know he didn't learn yorker from him. Infact yorker is one of the basic ball anyone can bowl. But temperamentally he definitely got better under the tutelage of Malinga. He was too raw.

Yup. It is impossible not to imagine Bumrah did gain something from him. Even if it is a little.

Great bowler but didnt he have metoo allegation as well ? It tarnishes his image for me.
