Below is the current points table - Can one (if not more) of the bottom 4 teams make to the playoffs? If so, which one (or two) of the top 4 teams will miss out? SRH's chances appear bleak.

Indian Premier League
TEAM M W L PT NRR
CSK 8 6 2 12 1.223
DC 8 6 2 12 0.547
RCB 8 5 3 10 -0.706
MI 8 4 4 8 -0.071
KKR 8 3 5 6 0.110
RR 7 3 4 6 -0.190
PBKS 8 3 5 6 -0.368
SRH 7 1 6 2 -0.623

The finals will be between CSK and DC.

KKR have come with a real solid mindset in the second half of this season but think it will be tough for them to go past CSK and DC in the playoffs as they have to win consecutive matches on trott to do that.

RCB will probably end up at 3 in points table ahead of KKR who will end up at 4. But feel the current version of KKR is  good enough and even favourite to beat RCB in the knockouts.

Punjab will remain inconsistent, play great cricket some day and extremely poor other days.

Mumbai needs something special to turn things around. They were complacent when started this season and now struggling to make a comeback because of momentum. Feel the pressure of representing Indian team in the World T20 might also be getting the better of them in this tournament.

@zen what’s wrong with your team RR?

It is my 2nd team. As mentioned before - “Worry for RR is its bowling attack without the likes of Archer. Morris would need to step up”.

Also catching has been bad so far. The team needs heroic performances to win.

Why are they persisting with Riyan Parag who have done nothing of note?

morris also. Waste of money

drop Parag and Morris

play Miller and some local bowler

allow Livingston’s to bowl a bit

With the mega auction coming up, they could look to try out a few players and also have fun in the remaining games.

RR I like to follow for its 6 hitting capabilities/attitude and ability to cause upsets (w/o key players). I hope they continue that in the remaining games.

Voting will close soon sometime today ... below are the scenarios:

:rcb:  plays PK (10/03) at S'jah, SRH (10/06) at Abu Dhabi, and DC (10/08) at Dubai -> expected to win one of the 3 games to go through

Teams below would focus on winning all of their remaining games:

:rr: plays MI (10/05) and KKR (10/07) at S'jah

:mi: plays RR (10/05) at S'jaj and SRH (10/08) at Dubai

:kkr:plays SRH (10/03) at Dubai and RR (10/07) at S'jah

:kp: plays RCB (10/03) at S'jah and CSK (10/07) at Dubai

NRR will come into play if

  • Both RR and PK win their remaining games
  • Both MI and KKR win their remaining games
  • Both PK and MI/KKR win their remaining games
  • PK, KKR, and MI win their remaining games
  • If RR, PK, MI, and KKR win only 1 of their remaining two games

In short, 4th spot is still open!
