Indian batsmen, greenbro bowlers -  mix - voila you have an associate team.

that’s why I want to see teams like PNG, Scotland, Ireland to do well. They have a decent native pool.

Unfortunately ICC messed up on Kenya. Could have done a lot there. Unbelievable that a 2003 wc semifinalist (regardless of how they got there) doesn’t even qualify for qualifiers. Zimbabwe atleast there is a political issue there.

Oh noes! Jatinder was looking competent and settled out there. What a shame:-(

To be fair, going by the kind of catches Bangladesh havd dropped by now today, it was surprisingly competent from Liton Das.

I agree with @Norman though, teams like Bangladesh will improve the cricket quality of the tournament than Oman in the big rounds.

They won't improve it if they are not there ...

If they are good enough they will be there  if they are not then tough f*king luck that's what tournament sport is all about

If the Arab countries start poaching fringe domestic Indian and Pakistani cricketers, like they do with Africans in athletics, they could assemble a team good enough to beat Bangladesh regularly.

Can't blame ICC if the locals * it up - same with Zim and SA in danger of going down that road.  Ultimately local board, admins, players have to stand up.

Damn it, Oman is like one international quality batsman in Jatinder and "Guildford 2nd XI" for the rest, to paraphrase our favourite 80s New Zealand all-rounder ...
