vvvslaxman
I don't think he is hated. May be made fun of. In fact most wanted him to be available for England series. One place where his style of bowling will click. But he constantly went missing. It is all about match ups. Is Bumrah replaceable? No. Is Bhuvi replacable. Yes Besides Deepak chahar, Shami one can say Arshdeep was impressive this season. So was Harshal who had better average speed than Bhuvi. Moment people find more names that are better than him, there will be pressure on replacing him. Same with batsmen as well. Kohli despite being the no.1 match winner for India over the years is not really wanted. Link to comment
express bowling
For many of us, liking a player is usually format based. I like Bhuvi as a T20 bowler. He has the requisite skills. Bowls good defensive yorkers, slower balls and knuckle balls and is good at the death. If he is in form, he walks in my T20 playing 11 unless there is someone else bowling even better. I don't like Bhuvi as a test match pacer. This format demands pacers who can hit the deck hard for bounce if the ball is not moving. And the ball not moving is a rather frequent event. Moreover, we play about 60% of our cricket on slow pitches and need skiddy quick pacers who can overcome the slowness of the pitches. Plus the test format needs pacers who are very fit and can sustain intensity and their optimum pace throughout the day. Bhuvi has lacked this fitness from 2018 onwards. In ODIs, he has been a high average pacer. Does not pick enough wickets and this is needed to stop ravaging modern day batters. My personal preference is for low average quick bowlers who can bowl hostile bouncers. But having 1 good swing bowler with some batting ability ... playing as a bowling all-rounder ... is quite ok. Bhuvi could have been this guy. But he did not realize his potential as a proper swing bowler and does not swing the ball as much as he did in 2013 to 2015 period. And his fitness has dropped. Given his current fitness and age, it won't be easy for him to be a regular in any format. Mosher, Hell Raiser and Mariyam 1 2 Link to comment
Mesky99
There is no personnel hate against him, he is a terrific bloke and extremely humble, over the last four years all from bumrah, shami, ishant, Umesh have improved by a couple of notches, bhuvi has not quite lived up to the standard the rest have set, he was hitting peak in 2017-2018 but got categorised as a limited overs specialist by the management though never a potent wicket taker in odis but economical, he led the attack when we beat aus in the 2019 odi series and offcourse recently in the eng series at home, Shami with his potent wicket taking ability has been sidelined at times in odis due to the team managements bias for bhuvi, his pace has dropped drastically since 2019 world cup, he will have to be spot on with his lengths if he is to have any impact this world cup, shami should play ahead of him, so should to thakur imo. Yes. Growth is the problem. If anything he regressed. In small areas like death bowling he made improvement. But overall growth is stunted. Just didn't take his game to next level. Look at Siraj he was a cannon fodder in limited over games. He has vastly improved his game. express bowling 1 Link to comment
ash
Wait do people here really HATE the cricketer? I thought it was just blowing off some stream during matches. If anyone actually hates a cricketer then they should get a life. What are we, 5 year olds? Link to comment
