It's just an affectionate title, no one takes it literally (except couple nut cases). Aussies show similar revernece to Bradman but use their owm nicknames.  Thankfully we live in a country and religion where we can use the word God freely without being punished or shamed

Nope. There are many fools out there who literally worship cricketers and treat them like gods.

You will never see that happen in Australia. superstar culture needs to perish. Affectionate title or not, there is no reason to grovel and fall at his feet. Look at how kohli has single handedly ruined our chances to win multiple ICC titles. You cannot afford to grant cricketers excessive power to dictate terms.

Dhoni should try  team strategist role or tuition teacher for kohli ( captaincy, utilising spinners & field placement)

Firangs have a very system oriented approach. No wonder they have been a great success in militiary, economy and in sports. Somehow in my land Bharat, Individual worship is a way of life in sports, politics and corporate world. 

 

Just look at current WC T20 final. Two firang teams, whose combined population, is way less than any two of our metros combines.

 

How come they are such a bunch of over achievers? Desi's need to sit down and think on this before calling some player as "God".

Yup Mitchell Johnson had a few terrible test seasons before that Ashes. He did well in the IPL before that series and SRT predicted he will do well in Ases too.

No way. I would never get into one of those teams. So I was 2 down in one of division games where combined team of three schools from Goregaon was fielded. Some very embarrassing details of the game that I would rather forget. Still get nightmares though.

Sachin was the one who proposed Dhoni as captain to the selectors. The rest is history.
