In Ind, people expect a high strike rate batsman to do be as consistent as tuk tuk ones who take their time and pick and chose balls to hit.

Butler has scored multiple 100’s for England at 5-6-7. In fact he has the top 3-4 quickest 100’s by English batsman all scored by him at that position.

 

On top of that Butler’s second skill which is keeping is also top class. It’s so good that even though they have other decent keepers in the same X1 like Bairstow they persist with him. In fact his keeping is so good that he isa first choice test player despite his poor batting returns.

The thread is on T20s though. If SDP bats higher on a regular basis, he will score big too. In ODIs, he scored 2 90s in Aus recently, averaging over 100 when the next best avg was in the 50s ... Feel free to rate Buttler high. All of them are good players ... The point is on Buttler too would struggle in a failed Indian set up where only 1-2 guys are expected to play magical innings in the lower middle order most of the time and be as consistent as the relic tuk tuk brigade

How many times Pandya has played Asif Ali type of knocks?

Many times. In ODIs has a 80 odd v Pak, 30 odd v NZ (got out in trying to gain momentum), 2 90s in Aus

So? You expect Ind to lose 4 wkts regularly in T20s   

 

I guess, he needs to hit 6 6s in the last over to help Ind win with 9 wkts down

As for 145+, has smashed Rabada and Nortje, and well took 17 off Afridi, who you would want to count Afridi as 145+

[Frustrated]

The very fact that Pandya does not bat among the top 4 suggests that the team management and the captain don't trust his batting ability at all.   It's always hit or miss. On top of that, he can't bowl more than 2 overs to save his life.   Who cares what he achieved in a meaningless bilateral T20 series against Aus last year, whose bowling line up had club level bowlers like sams etc.
