How we can have full crowds & T20's + tests at home just 3 days after the WT20 ended, but not the WT20 itself?

Why the * did BCCI not pressure into playing this event at home? It's clear we'd have probably an even chance at home especially with late night starts kinda negating the dew factor :om:

Any good reason, apart from throwing Brat out of the squad as Cap :cantstop:

Because the decision to move the WT20 was taken at the time when the IPL had to be cancelled due to bubble failure, and the final decision to confirm it in UAE was delayed in the hopes of bringing it back, but the pandemic's spread in India kept increasing and BCCI had no choice but to accept the shift.

But hey, why let simple facts matter when you just want to release gas.

WC was already delayed by an year, couldnt delay any longer. Alternate venue was only option

Well they could've held it in Oz, as originally planned for 2020 & towards the start of Aussie summer! Pretty sure having shifting it in India was a braindead moving to begin with, did they not see the number of cases here in mid-late 2020 :whack2:

There was no realistic chance of having it being held in India unless we exceeded US levels of vaccination 4-5 months back. So again the point comes back to why host it in the first place if UAE  was the likeliest venue for BCCI :hmpf:

There was talk of Ashes getting cancelled due to rise in Delta strain cases there. The world over is infested by the Chinese virus

Aussie government was not going to allow that.  Zero chance.  BCCI essentially did the ICC and CA a favor by swapping the hosting rights and made lemonade out of lemons.

What is shame full that Kiwis and Aussies will loose to England and India 3/5 times they play and Allmost all group 1 team will beat Pakistan 3/5 times but Pakistan played semis.

Argueably Worst tournament in history of cricket after That 1992 world cup in Australia where D/L rules effed up South Africa.

Yet there was this thing called Australian Open held down under, right in the, middle of the pandemic. I'm sure if CA wanted to host it they could've, no reason why the overzealous BCCI *s got their hands dirty & messed up our entire WT20 chances

This is by far the worst ICC event I recall, where toss made the biggest difference in 90% of the games!
