Almost 2 years into Dravid's tenure, I feel like my worst fears of Dravid's limitations as coach are coming true.

More than the results, it is the regressive thinking of the TM that is causing frustration. Seniority policy, lack of any new ideas, trundler only strategy for T20 WC etc.

At least under Cheerleader Shastri there was some excitement and interest.

Under Dravid the team has become cricket's most expensive retirement home. And they are so BORING. There is zero pull factor.

Don't think this applies to Tests. Injuries aside, we are playing same side that played under VIrat kin 2021 England.

No progression in test cricket at all, we have gone backwards.

They like to stick to tried and tested failures.

Thank God Hahul got injured or else he would have beeen the first name even before Sharma in the team sheet.

Yeah, it's unbelievable how Dravid has thrown his support behind the consistently failing Rahul. Every time he fails, Dravid backs him up even more strongly.

Wasn't he dropped for 4th Test v Aus at home?

What has been good since Dravid became coach?

same as Rohit

See coach's role ends once match starts. With all the injury to pacers and Iyer/Rahul/Pant/Sundar. There weren't many options to choose anyway.

Yes Ashwin could have played but many posters agreed with the decision to not play him on eve of the Test. We can criticise mid match but they can't change team mid match.

But him and sharma had better understanding of this pitch and typically how pitch will behaves over a period of time in 5 days. Being coach and captain they end up selecting wrong players over a period of time now. Enough of defending of these 2 both should be thrown out.

After enjoying extended, undeserved backing from Dravid.

Was he dropped under Shastri?

Many on this thread you will observe have same thinking

There is one poster who staunchly defends washed up seniors and denies the availability of ANY new talent.
