We have learnt nothing in the last 20 years....

Seniority culture pervades and pollutes the team.

Former players and commentators continue backing senior players when they are not performing even after an extended run in the team.

Captain and senior players form a cartel that denies young players entry.

Same problems that have affected the Indian team over many many years continue with no end in sight.

When these guys go and new bunch of players become senior, they will do the same because they were denied as well by prior seniors.

World Champion teams that consistently dominate opponents do not make these mistakes. But we will never get there until we change this mentality.

It's pathetic. There should be no excuses losing to a novice South African team. We couldn't have asked for a better opportunity than this to break our duck in SA.

We've made them look like world beaters when they are clearly not.

Novices rock.  Ask India B in Australia 2020-21 - they were forced to include novices due to injuries and babies, and it turned out to be phenomenal.  Time to make tough calls and play novices in the Indian team.

I thought that match would open the eyes of the selectors and change the thought process but evidently it didn't change a thing! So sick and tired of watching the slackers hoping to just cruise on the shoulders of contributors. Picked up multiple crores for playing like crap for well over a year now and still don't have the decency to retire with dignity.

Nothing EVER opens the eyes for blind people.

We won with novices in T20 World Cup in 2007 with new captain and many uncapped players resting most seniors.

We won in Aus with novice attack and relatively new captain.

We lost WTC final due to experienced hacks failing yet again.

Now, we are on the verge of losing one more time due to same experienced hacks failing.

They were all pounding Pant after last Test, see how he came out strong now. Nobody pounds experienced players. Gavaskar in particular is the worst. He will be the first to criticize Pant and last to even point a finger at Pujara or Rahane.

Even the current Eng team would likely win a series in SA given their previous record there. SA are an average team - batters all average in 30s and bowlers are raw or journeymen.

They are quite decent in their home conditions, Rabada, Ngidi, Jansen can use the conditions well. Elgar, Petersen are also not easy to dismiss whereas for India, conditions are as alien as it can get. Also, India needs to rework their batting lineup after this series.

Gavaskar is the most pathetic bullshit guy in Indian cricket

This is worse than before. 7 crores every year for averaging 20.

You probably mean Rahane/Pujara. They are in grade A and receive only 5 crores.
