Remember the name

Not to be a dick but under 19 is not a good benchmark. Remember lot of players came through and won under 19 tournaments yet they were no where to be found later.

But.....in saying that, this kid looks legit good. Not like unmukth chand etc.

Unmukt Chand, Harmeet Singh, Aparajito Baba, and so on were all from that batch. I remember Ian Chappell going ga-ga over Unmukt and Harmeet

Sometimes we get it right.. Look at @nsareen post from 2016 during under-19 world cup which he was part of. Sundar was barely 16 years old.

Nice. Not saying we can't but it's unpredictable. More often than not, players who have done extremely well in under 19 have struggled to excel in International cricket. It's true.

Although we usually get 2 to 3 top quality players during every WC. Most top sides do except Aussies.

Aussies haven't had one player do well in internationals from the under 19 batches since 2016.

I remember rabada in 2012 destroying Aussies and doing well vs pakistan in under 19 WC. That was a clear sign of a great bowler. Taking 6 wickets in the semis etc.

For under 19 you have to look at skills or pace/bounce. That's it.

Results don't matter.

They mature late. Also you have to do well in sheffield shield. Jason Sanga the captain was the one guy that was hyped I'm 2018. He is only 22 now. Still time on his side. Also Lloyd pope the leggie from the same batch doing well in Domestics. Also playing for Sidney sixes. Travis head is from changes batch. Look how many years for him to develop

 Chand already retired.

2006 batch went missing at the Gabba.  But 2016 and 2018 batch stepped up.

If he can consistently extract bounce that is great

His bowling action has shades of Mitch Johnson, not as round arm but bowling arm goes low touching the pocket of his trousers to create a slingshot effect.

I love sundar. Never been more excited about a batting all rounder. He is a top tier talent.
