Not sure about what will or will not help Pandya as he is a half generation younger but I don't think this Ranji stint is going to make any difference to Rahane and Pujara.

 

Rahane had a county stint in the past  and it did not help him.

 

When the eye hand coordination goes with age - it is just gone. Period.

Standard of Ranjis will deteriorate further with the inclusion of old age/retired players like PuRane.  Not good for indian cricket, overall.

Good to see CDP and Rahane focus on Ranjis … At the moment, SDP is focusing on white ball cricket and expected to return to cricket in IPL. Since he is coming back, he is likely to be selective about formats and unlikely to risk injury in Ranji.

How is BCCI allowing Pandya to get away with all this. If he is under rehabilitation, it should be at NCA. He hasn't reported there in last 3 months.

He doesn't realise that best way to improve playing fitness is by playing competitive cricket, more so FC cricket. Batting for a day in Ranji Trophy will do more good to him than whatever fitness routines he has been following (which obviously hasn't helped much in the last 16-17 months).

 

BCCI needs to be more strict. Every single player not playing the WI LOIs should be asked to play at least a couple of Ranji matches before IPL unless they are carrying an injury and recovering at NCA. It applies for Bumrah, Shami, Jadeja, Ashwin, Axar, Gill all of them

If his back is so bad not to be able to play FC cricket, he isn't getting his hitting ability back in LOIs either. 

 

Looks like Dravid ruing his absense in SA has emboldened Pandya and given him a sense of being irreplaceable.

They ought to score at least double or triple hundreds even Shreyas Iyer or Vihari can score 50s abroad once in 10 innings.

They probably need 30+ off 100 balls and it will viewed as holding one end down and doing the "job" for the team.

 

This is how bad Indian cricket has been reduced too when players like this are barely expected to make a 50 a first class level.
