I remember a odi game in south africa.. this Vikram Rathore was leaving balls like it was a test match.. those were really horrible days

In the 90s, scores around 240 was considered a good strong score.

Man whenever one of you reminds me about the lousy old days of Indian cricket, the 90s shenanigans, and the terrible chaps who got an India cap I’m like:

India desperately needed a finisher back then. Azharuddin was more a strike rotator. Apart from Tendulkar only Bedade/Robin singh had somewhat decent strike during the mid 90s.  VIkram Rathour's (our current batting coach) had a strike rate of 58. That was low even in that era.

Again a random comment. Most traditional ODI openers in the early to mid 90s Boon, Marsh Taylor, Hudson, Wessels, Gooch, Haynes,  had a 55-60 SR

'Aggressive' Slater had a 55-56 SR.

Yes. Slater was known to be aggressive in Tests.  Also sucked balls against spin.  We are talking about Indian batsmen. Not Australian batsmen. I can also bring up Jayausriya from that era, Afridi from that era.  Average strike rate of an opener in the 90s was 67. You can't choose an odd ball example.
