Playing 5 regular seniors vs SL is utterly disgraceful

Being the captain Rohit has to play. But then to play 4 others?

 

It's absolutely shameful on the part of the TM to play Jadeja, Bumrah, Bhuvi and Chahal vs this already weak SL team that too now missing Teekshna and Hasranga.

 

Bishnoi, Avesh and Siraj must play the next 2 matches. We are wasting a golden opportunity to blood more younger players by picking these old washed up seniors.

You think playing Seniors is pointless, many here feel that Playing Srilanka is pointless. That too once in every 7 to 8 odd months.

Only 3 seniors should play, Bumrah should definitely be there, he skipped the t20i series vs WI.

Seniors can't rest all the time, they need some game time too. 

Similarly Jadeja should be there. 

 

Bhuvi shouldn't have played this match, 

same goes for Chahal.

international cricket is not an audition or a trial run. You can maybe chop and change depending on circumstance but it’s a job/profession. As a professional you need to win.

There was a small little thing called covid which affected 8 players in the squad which meant we had a half fit Saini playing to complete the 11 with Bhuvi batting at 6.

 

But if that is your reference, do celebrate the grand win today especially those wickets by Bhuvi, Jadeja and Chahal

Exactly why we should be playing the younger players in these series rather than looking to win them with our regulars.

The 2nd odi we barely managed to win had Deepak C, Bhuvi, Chahal and K.Pandya: all 4 guys people don’t want near the Indian side.

 

Do you want all u-19 players to play against weaker teams?

 

there are a lot of moving parts here. Broadcasters want stars like Ro-Ko, Bumrah,Pant etc. you have to maintain a fine line.

 

All the players tried here are fringe players who will be backups. Maybe you don’t agree with some names which is fair but I don’t really see any off the cuff names here.

 

Guys like Bhuvi, Chahal you know my opinion of them but it is what it is. Right now based on what we have they are the best pool we got.

We won,as i said playing youngsters doesn't guarantee you wins all the time,you must have stomach to take defeats as well for benefits in the longer run

If BCCI cares for broadcasters then what is the point of inviting WI,SL

Im sure very soon many more such names will make your list ,

People have a habit of dismissing newcomers here at the drop of a hat eg Kishan,nice to see he came good here

We need players like him in t20 mix,if someone like Dhawan plays here and scores consistent 50s you will never see a Kishan,Ruturaj or even Shaw

Kick out Dhawan, Pandey, Pandya from that 11,  get three younger players, they'll roll over SL anywhere. In that 3rd ODI, we were 150 in 25 overs, then both Pandey and Pandya sucked, we were rolled over for 227.

Had Shreyas played instead of Pandey, we would have won the third odi too. Pandey was a liability.

I think Rohit, Bumrah and Jaddu would be enough for this series from the senior age bracket. He himself could take a break in the last game if the series is already won by us. This will help groom the stand-by captain as well.

8 players had covid the sensible thing would have been to call off the game ofcourse they lost any team would in those circumstances, that game can't be a reference for anything other than toughness of the Indian side and importance they give to each game. 

 

On topic whats the harm in playing every game to best of ability without increasing injury concerns its all good exposure for who ever 8s playing.
