Since "bilateral" cricket isn't going to happen until the Pak govt stops funding and protecting terrorist murderers, this is an attempt to get past that. Of course CA knows that it would just be millions in free money, so why wouldn't they go along with it. Good thing is that the BCCI simply doesn't need money anymore. Actually that series was the coming of age of ganguly who after it became the undisputed candidate to be the next captain.. scoring 356 runs with 2 tons against pakistan and aus where he hammered both mcgrath n akram .. unfortunately the only match india won in series was against pakistan in Adelaide Oval. India lost remaining 7 of the 8 matches.. 3 against pak and all 4 against aus ( crazily they lost against pakistan with pakistan 8 down with more than 80 runs to get in Brisbane).. that odi team had these players in middle order: jacob martin, kanitkar, sameer dighe, laxman, dravid, robin singh.. no wonder.. and bowling was led by Srinath assited by Agarkar n Mohanty..
