rangeelaraja Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 (edited) Australia is certain to make it to the finals ..unless they screw up real bad now. Its going to be a super tight race between India, Pakistan and South Africa. Pakistan plays the ENTIRE ICC Test Championship in the subcontinent. Have never seen such a bizarre draw. Pakistan plays home series against Aus, Eng and NZ and away series in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Not a single damn away series against SENA in the cycle. India has to trounce Aussies at home by atleast 2-0 to win. Our bowling will as always ...always stand up. I don't trust our current batting at all against a strong side even at home ...we shall see.. Frustrated Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Aus vs Pak. And for a change, this one won't be a draw
Serpico Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 If Kane recovers, Nz tour of Pak will be interesting. Azaz is better than lyon and already won an Asian series against Pakistan. Pcb is shooting themselves in the foot with these roads. Still think it'll be Pak vs India
Lone Wolf Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Hmm... I believe it won't that straightforward for Pakistan. That lost game in WI can come back to bite them. OP should correct his schedule that Pakistan drew 1-1 in WI last year. I expect Pakistan to lose 1 test away to lankans at least. That series if Lanka wins tosses won't be easy. NZ probably peaked in last WTC & I don't think they will be a bigger threat but if u offer them roads then they will belt u. Australia needs a thumping series victory in SL as well to make it to the finals. India's path looks a lot straightforward. Win the decider in England & we are through.
SK_IH Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 WTC is no bar to judge the best test side in the world, so basically no fks given about who plays final of this flawed event Vijy and Cricspin 1 1
rageaddict Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 (edited) Australia v/s India. Pakistan will continue to lose/Draw Tests at home against Australia, England and NZ. To be able to qualify for the finals, a team shall have an outstanding record at home and some wins away. Pakistan will continue to lose precious home points, they dropped a Test in WI and would also drop another in SL. India should be going through to the finals if they win against Australia at home, pretty straight forward. If by chance some miracle happens and India lose to Australia, SA might qualify for the finals . They will win all home series and need to win few away tests so should be through but India is still favorites. Pakistan has no chance , they have a defeatist defensive mindset who don't want to take a risk to win the series and are content with drawn matches. Edited March 18, 2022 by rageaddict

Their spin attack looks quite weak. Lyon looks past it. Swepson is not the kind of bowler who can trouble us in Tests. Agar can be handy though. Iyer Pant Jadeja is a good lower middle order. Kolli & Rohit are a worry & we can't afford more than 1 passanger vs Aus. Let's see it's too early to predict that series.

Mirpur will be a Turner mostly as pitch is always slow. Chattogram I have seen is quite flat & Bangla usually struggles there. But yes anything less than 2-0 there & we are toast.
Bigg Brother Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 WTC is farce. Don't know why people take it seriously and consider it as some championship is beyond my understanding... SK_IH 1

Starc is inconsistent as is Lyon. both swepson and agar do not seem good enough. and on SC pitches, don't forget we bat till 9 with a lineup of iyer at 5, pant at 6, jaddu at 7, ashwin at 8, and axar at 9.

At full strength honestly if India play seriously to its full potential, India wins 3 0 or 4 0. But now we may lax here and there and Aussies will come hard due to us being a bogey side for them. 2-1 or 3-1 India. At full strength we csn beat England and Aussies and saffers away too. Only in kiwi land we struggled but that's mainly cause we don't prep well nor do we consider them as a top side which is weird.

The championship is a flawed concept since you can sneak your way in there even playing easier series like Nzl did instead of the much tougher path we had to take. It is not a proper biannual league as such for this very reason. Lone Wolf and Vijy 2
Dery Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Aus vs Pak. After 2 decades of no cricket at home not easy for them to win at home but they have a good team. I think Pak will win WTC too if they qualify for finals. Kipper and Banton 2

Would be a travesty if a mediocre pak side wins the WTC but it is certainly possible. India could lose to England and one game to Aussies. Good chance for the greenbhais.

This tour would be good one. BD team is strong in ODI format at home. Only rain can save them in Tests.
