This is hilarious.

"Bollywood" should take the onus to correct a historical wrong passed on through folklore?

Why?

Its not a part of Yash Raj Film's KRA. Also, in the real world, nobody cares about the grave injustice that history has heaped upon Jaichand or even about this story/war that happened a 1000 years ago.

Don't worry, Bollywood is not going anywhere. It is in the process of re-invention.

These stars invest a LOT of time for a movie and surrender to director's vision to get that translated to swagger on screen.

its swagger either u have it or not . Aamir khan is one of the dedicaed guys but he doesnt have it, salman sleep walk through his roles but he has it

Also its a myth that they dont invest time, its only n only akshay kumar .

Even if we go by Delhi logic...  Samarat Hemu was last Hindu ruler of Delhi.

Jayachandra ruler of Kannauj (the then power centre of India)  was still the most powerful ruler even in Prithviraj times.  Ghori & Aibak had great difficulty in defeating him in Battle of Chandwar in 1194.  Akhand chutiya Bollywood logic.

Samrat Ashoka ruled in Pataliputra (Bihar) :dontknow:. Our whole history books have Delhi Centric

Especially when they are ones who contributed most to the folklore. Every other movie refers to a traitor  like character as Jaichand. Like in Trishul AB Sr calls Prem Chopra character saala Jaichand. Even in the original Golmal there is a reference to Jaichand albeit in a comical way. I never knew about Jaichand  as a kid growing up in the south , came to know only through Bollywood movies :bumsmack:

Dont agree about nobody caring about a old historical events. SRK’s Asoka was also critiqued with the same error - not being true to history. Other movies like Alexander (Hollywood) was trashed by critics. Unless branded as historical fiction, people compare the depiction to be close to history. Maybe the SouthBombay crowd who eat Masala Dosa with knives and forks don’t care :vroam:

This looks indeed funny & blatant dhajjiya udana of facts.  Faltu ka hero banana hai...  Vimal Kumar has lost his marbles & this snake should be boycotted by all.  He wants to take benefit from any means possible.

At least Selmon Bhai isn't two faced like him.

Doesn’t Bollywood have a single star with a good screen presence like Yash or Prabhas or Allu Arjun? There is no one with style and swagger to pull off these kind of films.

Does this style/swagger apply to just men down south ? It seems to be in shorter supply among women and there's the need of importing some fair skinned north Indian actresses to dance alongside these stylish men.

I've noticed across the years how a few of us have been critical of nepotism & over the top masala flicks in bollywood. This doesn't seem to be much of a trend down south, on the contrary there is proper worship of these sooparstarz and justifying their over the top masala films with such words.

Bollywood and North India are two different entities. North India(as is south) is a place with strong families with men heading them. Bollywood has been taken over by liberal story tellers who can never imagine masculinity.

Jeez guys relax don’t turn this into North vs South, I am not taking a dig on all North Indian men. You just need to find a proper action star  , the Khans and Kumars are not working out. And the new crop of stars like tiger and Kartik Aryan are not very promising.

Whether this film is a hit or a flop, I can assure you that it will be far superior to the pathetically overrated south movies like RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR etc.

Take a look at this hilarious bullet scene. :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:  Rajamouli had no idea what he was thinking.

Mc.. bullet hai ya biscuit ka packet :hysterical:  :hysterical:

That initial Ram Charan mob & arrest scene with his lathi, I was thinking of Thor's entry with his hammer to defend Wakanda in Infinity war. One guy and something like a weapon in his hand taking on hundreds, except Thor is an actual god and the hammer has quite some powers. Sunny Deol must be shouting plagiarism while holding on to his handpump from Gadar.

That scene establishes Ram as an extraordinarily powerful man. He is introduced as a superhuman from the get go. Same with NTR character. He was established a superhuman when fighting against the big tiger. This scene was though not convincing, rushed and not executed well. Last 10-15 mins seemed rushed.

:facepalm::facepalm:

People interpreting criticism of bollywood as criticism of North India as a whole.

LSC and Prithviraj are truly mediocre trailers, from actors that are past their peak , for what are looking like truly mediocre films.

For comparison look at Trailer of Vikram.  There is cinematic excellence right there.

Hrithik Roshan & Vidyut Jammwal are light years ahead of any action hero in India.

That's another matter that Vidyut doesn't has enough PR like Shroff or Khans or even South Indian stars to promote him.

yeah I see this as a dangerous trend. All of a sudden this seems to be North India vs South India. Ironically most idiots are not even from North India lol. People from the Up- Bihar belt or even Punjab seems to have lapped up the movies.

there are some chewtiyas who argue about sanatani culture etc but their reference point for Indian movies made for consumption of the Indian masses which is where most revenue comes is Marvel movies :hysterical:

Personally I couldn’t finish watching RRR as I lost interest half way through and wasn’t a fan of Bahubali but if the masses are lapping it up they are doing something right. A guy like Rajamouli is not an idiot to spend 400

crores and make a Lord of the Rings that 80% of India can’t relate to or will go over their heads. The trick is to keep it simple and fill it with Masala to give the masses a good time. That’s the formula since time immemorial. There isn’t more secret sauce than that.

Also doesn’t mean the rickshaw wallah or the thela wallah enjoying the movies really think NTR can beat up a 100 people . Difference is in Hollywood you have to beat the audience over the head to explain why he has super powers. Indian cinema it is assumes that the hero already has that. For realistic cinema there is a different genre for those sensibilities.

Too many posers and bitter morons around.

Go Telugu movies, teach India how to make a money spinners with cinema.  Jai Andhra Jai Telnagana Jai Balaji

true but also lacks charisma. Good looks doesn’t always equal to charisma or else Dino Morea and John Abraham would be the biggest stars in the country and Rajni Kant would stick to being a bus conductor.
