In ODIs, SKY is best a no.5. Flashy 60s and 70s to keep the run rate high and if India gets strong start then he can accelerate straightaway. It should be Iyer at 3 and Pant at 4 or maybe Pant at 3 if right hander is in.

Both Shami and Bumrah can tonk. Bumrah even scored more runs than Rahane in that test series in England.

 

Yea siraj post injury has not looked the same. He was breathing fire till then. 

He did really well vs england in a couple of tests early in 2021. Then he had a hip flexor injury. For the past 3 tests he has been a huge let down. 

Have to step down, get better and come back. He Is a good bowler. 

We should have had prasidh. The thing with India is they really stick by you once you produce some results vs australia for example. It's annoying but I guess they want to give confidence to the players. We need to be more ruthless with selections unfortunately. This isn't like secure government jobs.

Iyer should not play in any format outside Asia tbh. I am sorry. Short ball issue of that magintitude is just really pathetic. 

Teams just automatically resort to bouncers against him. It's a joke.

In ODIs as well, s Iyer has been completely trash in Sena.    Aus and SA are where he failed miserably in odi series.   Yet, he gets picked ahead of the In form Hooda.

I agree with others here who think ODI is the best format for Kohli to get some runs under his belt.
In fact I was amazed to see him in place of Hooda in the 2nd T20I vs The Pommiestanis.

Having said that, will his Izzat heal and will he reappear magically in either or both of the upcoming ODIs?

Only time will tell folks.

Goes to show that despite the financial clout of the BCCI they don’t show the kitchen sink at sorting out a potential next team india players technique to ensure all condition performance. Or the players have the mentality of collecting paycheques and not caring about results anyway as they know their places are guaranteed due to their IPL brand value

This is what to expect with Indian Cricket, ask for a particular player to be in the team and expect someone completely different that is unsuited.

Iyer has got umpteen amount of chances inspite of repeated failures. The same does not apply for other players like samson, hooda, S. khan, etc.. Wonder why.

So has Samson... hes been given many opportunities for Team india but hes a choker.

 

Both him and Iyer are IPL captains so theres a unlimited rope for them due to their brand values
