Chakdephatte Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 (edited) My ranking: South Africa > India > England > Pakistan > Australia Rest don't stand a realistic chance. Too early, but you can vote @Lone Wolf, @tweaker, @Vijy, @Lord, @vvvslaxman, @Ankit_sharma03, @coffee_rules, @express bowling Edited July 14, 2022 by Chakdephatte
Chakdephatte Posted July 14, 2022 Author Posted July 14, 2022 (edited) Proteas cannot get a better chance to win a trophy. They have right players for right conditions and in good form. Right from Markram, who is the most complete pace hitter in my eyes, Rabada-Nortje whose lengths will be perfect to for Australia. Supported by three more ridiculous hitters of pace and hard length in RVD, DeCock, and Miller, and consolidator in Bavuma. Shamsi is subject to test. Only thing they lack is a star all-rounder. India will be under pressure (the embarrassement in UAE) but has incredible bench strength. Rahul-Rohit perfect for OZ, no no.7 currently has the skills that DK has, SKY in godly form, Kohli* still has value in Aus. Legendary duo of opening bowlers. Pandya is our X-factor. Chahal and Harshal are subject to test. Will be surprised if these two teams don't make it to final. England doesn't have the bowling, but batting may take them to semis. Australia, I don't see any X-factor. Pakistan doesn't have firepower and lack a champion leg spinner (I trust leggies in every situation). New Zealand's best batsman is out of form, Conway and Phillips are poor against hard lengths, they basically have one or two good batsmen. Sri Lanka is well-balanced but lack an X-factor. Ankit_sharma03 Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 since butler has become england captain the side has looked a lil down , also ill give them a chance only if Lord archer turns up
Ankit_sharma03 Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 India Australia NZ South Africa / Pakistan /England (england only if archer is fit) India wins it

They have more match winners than Australia and NZ. I feel New Zealand have a few weak links Conway, Philips, Williamson (poor form). No great wrist spinner might not be a factor in Australia, but still.

Lone Wolf Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 South Africa.... Rileee Roussuow is back for them. In action vs England later this week. Gun pace bowlers.. Faces India at Perth. Australia home side.. Hazelwood best bowler in T20 format right now. Plenty of clutch performers in the side. If they sort out Steve Smith problem.. They could be hard to beat. India/England Same level as of now. Both need little tinkering & will be good to go. Windies... Another strong T20 team that will love Aussie conditions. Ball comes on & massive hitters these guys. Pace attack add Joseph & Seals they could do the trick. Bounce of Holder as well. Pakistan... Weak team with lack of power hitting. But decent bowling outfit & will look to defend 160-170 totals. Shadab & Shaheen key players.
cowboysfan Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 australia are overwhelming favorites for me,they are the champions playing at home.
Adamant Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Have to admit, the LOI side is looking totally different under Rohit, Kohli had similar resources but couldn't do much. Yes, Rohit hasn't won a title and he might not win one but under him we are actually batting with a plan and players have well defined roles.

Adamant Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 As of Now the top 3 contenders are : Australia England (if Archer is back) India

zen Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 It is an open World Cup with no major favorites. Usually: Tier 1 teams at T20 WCs are Eng, NZ, & WI … WI tend to either be clueless or go all the way Tier 2 teams are Aus, Ind, Pak, SA, & SL This yr Aus is playing at home, while SA is shaping up well so will kick themselves if they miss out on the knockout spot NZ & SA owe it to themselves to win a LOI WC … Asian teams would to eager to do well too esp. after not having won any WC since 2014 (SL won the T20 WC in BD)

maniac Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Aus, SA, Eng, Ind-Pak (tie), wi-SL-nzl (tie) in that order
tweaker Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 I have voted for New Zealand..They have good mix of batsman , bowlers and allrounders. They usually click as a whole unit zen 1
zen Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Once the tournament starts and teams have played a couple of games, I tend to recognize the eventual winner. Pre-tournament is anyone's guess, however trends that need to be broken: No home team has won the T20 WC -> so Aus may need to work harder (Despite being a good team on paper playing in suitable conditions. One good catch & one good run out from the other team in a key game is all it takes to go down) No title holder has won in the first WC in Aus (not necessary a trend as for a trend to show up, one needs 3 touch points. Aus has only held two WCs): In 1992, when the ODI tournament was first played in Aus, we saw a first time champion. This would be the first T20 WC in Aus, therefore, maybe an opportunity for a 1st time champion tweaker 1
HamHindustani Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Australia, then England, then India my favs in order to win T 20.
Frustrated Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 India are definitely the favourites...........To crash out of the WT20 in the group stage. Jay 1
