Bumrah ruled out of Asia Cup

ahaan now it becomes interesting

  • Bhuvi-Arsh only two settled bowlers
  • Chahar will be coming out of injury
  • Avesh for sure will go now
  • Will they go back to umran since he was the one among recent ones who was in picture or Siraj/Prasidh/Shami/Thakur comes into picture ?

What's the point of resting him in so many games?  Poor absolutely shocking man management.

Arshdeep will be a sure starter now in playing XI.  I''ll like to see Siraj ahead of Avesh.

I couldnt care less about Asia cup but my worry is if Bumrah will be the same bowler post injury. Last time it took ages for him to get back his peak form.

Will his pace reduce, will he be still lethal?

Oh god...sad sad news

So with bumrah goes one complete full phase bowler .

Ideal replacement - Siraj

Form - unknown

Potential replacement- Avesh (since he can bowl in all phases but his form is all over the place)

With Harshal goes - middle-death phase bowler, death specialist more so and someone who can bat

No ideal replacement

Thakur- middle phase+ bowling but does leak runs

Umran- middle phase enforcer

None offers value in death phase like harshal . Both can turn the game - yaa to samne wali team ko harayenge ya apni ko

Our likely Three man pace attack

Boobie

Arshdeep

D Chahar (batting)

Siraj or Avesh will make the cut.  Siraj will play games vs Zim & so will Avesh.

Pace attack looks devoid of pace..  Unless  we add Siraj

Siraj is just as fast as Avesh.

That explains..why TM is trying to keep giving chances to Avesh...they desperately need one hit the deck bowler..as Bumrah i snot looking good from fitness perspective...I think they knew about his injury..resting was may be giving more time to see if he could recover or not..

but my concern is...he will not be the same bowler after these regular injuries..

Watch ODI series once again...  He was bowling 140+ & reversing at pace during death.  Breached 145 on ocassion as well.  Avesh never even came closer.

Depends on rythm. He was Delhi's fastest bowler before Rabada. In 2019, he used to bowl 145+ regularly, after that he slowed down to 134-140 range similar to Siraj. You are comparing Siraj at his best to Avesh in a struggling phase.

Bumrah takes ample rest, doesn't play all the games and still gets injured all the time.. :wall:

It's long since he got a major injury. Fitter than most fast bowlers, he is playing regularly since WTC final and preceding half IPL.

How is it shocking man management? They manage him well. It is right that they rest him when they can for his long term well being and so he is not burnt out. His style of bowling is intense. INjury is part of the game, could have been done in the nets.

Just keep reading and ignore. Most people here just write anything. Arguing is a waste of time.

Most folks on ICF vehemently disagreed with me when I said that Bumrah's action will cause issues no matter what.

It puts tremendous stress in his back as his mechanics are very inefficient.

Its better we reduce our dependence on Bumrah going forward. We need more bowlers with well coached actions.

Does the BCCI not invest in good fast bowling biomechanics experts to develop young bowlers' actions. I've seen the likes of Mavi's and Ishant's actions deteriorate over time and nothing seems to be done about this
