Do we have any capable batsmen after number 4. Pandya is batting with SR of 102.He always one match wonder per tournament.Somehow some geniuses think it is top order which is the problem.

 

Braithwaite won a world cup with just last over tonks. Finishing is the most important thing in t20s.Kohli and when rohit fires are still the best finishers in both shorter formats and that is the sad thing.

 

When Shadab can tonk 20 ball 50 , is it wrong to expect the same from so called best allrounder.

The shadab guy smashed it at Sydney that pitch is one of the most subcontinent type of pitch in Australia along with Adelaide shadab and Iftikhar will find it difficult to score runs at any other aus ground especially Melbourne and perth even Brisbane

Honestly speaking india is missing 4 guys chahar bumrah one more spinning allrounder (sundar)and one bat who can tonk hard length (gill)

India's no.6 and no.7 have to be genuine hitters against pace. DK is a choker. At this point we have none in the squad. Hooda is not a finisher. He can may be tonk in the middle not at Death.

Looking at how many hacks thoroughly enjoy some pitches India missed the trick by not picking Shreyas Iyer.  None of the pakistani batsmen are good against bounce. But not all the pitches have the same venom. Just MCG/Perth. Other pitches are like Indian pitches.

 How many did Aussies do? At least they didn't get dismissed giving catch practice on wide-balls. If not for Kohli and Ashwin we were lucky to reach 184. DK and Pandu had killed the game. Batting first in Adelaide has become like Dubai pitches, it becomes easier to bat in the second half.

For the first time India played with an elongated batting line up although Jaddu was not much of an use, but the knowledge of his presence at 8 will enable the top order to play more freely. This is one reason why we managed to recover even after top order collapses.  Will we follow this template in ODIs as well?

yes should have done it in ODI WC as well. Axar or someone at 7/8 would have made the difference

Honestly try sundar for jaddu. In t20 and odi. He will come good. He can consolidate.

Sundar is proper bits and pieces. India has to go to someone like Abhishek and Parag and groom them as spin bowling all rounders.

Abhishek's bowling as of now looks more refined than Parag.

Abhishek's bowling as of now looks more refined than Parag.

It's not more refined, I don't think. It's just that he is an SLA and those are harder to hit than offies especially since most lineups are right hander heavy.

I mean he was bowling in the IPL contrary to Parag and Tom Moody apparently rates his bowling pretty high.

That carrom ball he bowled in one of the games was a thing of beauty to the left hander... I forgot who was the batter that got bowled.

Yeah I get that.  It was a good ball. I actually don't mind Abhishek at 7.

Sundar's bowling is not penetrative enough for international level. Jadeja was gun bowler & fielder in his prime. Either Sundar should improve his bowling or we need to look for alternatives

Sundar is even worse than Jaddu for T20, if that was possible.

 

We need an attacking bat who can bowl. Parag, Abhishek and lower order sloggers like  Harshit, Brar,Bishnoi
