Tall guy with high back lift, long levers, silken timing, brute power. Good luck :)  Very stable hitter. Yusuf Pathan was another tall hitter.  Forget about Yuvraj. We would kill to have an Irfan. One who can face any type of bowling in any batting position.

People were mentioning Yuvraj's contributions alongside Uthappa's major role in 2007 WC T20, which reminded me of the 666666.  To me, it is just uplifting to watch that video.

He is MVP for us and clutch player. He played key roles in both 2007 and 2011 WC victories.

 

He is once a generation players like Kapil, Sachin etc.

In addition to the sheer batting talent (which could be inconsistent and even waned towards the end), he had a penchant for showing up big in the big moments.  I am sure there were some big moments where he failed, but he did enough on the biggest stages that he is remembered for it. 

 

The best part of the video was how he took that spat with Flintoff and turned it into 36 runs.

Yuvraj was natural. Even though he was not a test product he did his bit in Tests too. 5th day chase against England  partnered with Tendulkar to calm our nerves to finish the game. And another game where he helped us draw a test in NZ.  But when it comes to clutch Gauti was a gun player. WC final, WT20 final. Then that 10 hour marathon innings in NZ to save the test.  

 

Yuvraj had few weaknesses against pace 1)yorker early on 2) slower ball 3) well directed short ball.

Among current batsmen i see shades of Yuvi in Rajapakshe. Ball just pings of the bat when he connects.  Another guy who was tremendous like Yuvi was Shaun Marsh.

His innings in the 2011 WC final is one of the most under-rated contributions to a team's success, ever.  Without that, there is no 91 (70) by MSD.

Pant is an enigma in T20s. He needs pace to generate power, can’t time well against slas and slower balls. I was speaking from a batting+bowling contributor. Never seen VI power hit like Yuvraj , hence said develop. KL’s T20 batting didn’t come naturally to him in 2016-17 timeframe. It was developed

In terms of timing Pant is opposite of Yuvraj. Even his sixes against spinners catch the toe end of the bat. Sheer power and meat of the wood takes it over. Pant cannot be classified as a clean striker say like Moeen Ali. Nice bat swing,  Whole body is in a straight line. For Pant you can say different body parts moving in different direction.  His style of play is bit like Raina who often times relied on brute power. But Raina doesn't try to power everything.  Difference between Raina and Pant is Raina picks the right ball. When he sees a full toss there won't be any half measures (don't call me Ravi bot).  He just gives an almighty whack. Any bad ball he will brutalize it. Pant often times misses out on bad balls and goes after good balls and gets out.
