vayuu1
Since our current set of selectors are oblivious to the necessities of current style of limited overs plus TM management especially coaching staff is still following same Process which gives zilch result, don't u think we can certainly do with separate set of selectors and coaching staff Along with two different captain ,a coach who not only understands the requirements of current time but also improve and revolutionize the brand of cricket we play ,i would personally prefer ponting for loi and give him youngsters Link to comment

Vk1
they are not open to having different set of cricketers and coaches etc across formats.. you are asking about selectors Link to comment
express bowling
Selectors should be selected based on whether they meet certain pre-decided and necessary criteria. And not because they don't have jobs as commentators or coaches. Coaches should be selected based on whether they meet certain pre-decided and necessary criteria too. And not because they are prominent figures in Indian cricket. Mosher 1 Link to comment
Mariyam
Why do we even have selectors? Its basically a redundant role. Also, it makes life difficult for a coach. He has to employ strategies based on what talent he has at his disposal which he may not have necessarily picked. It would be nice if the coach were the chief selector. Maybe had a few minions so that the BCCI can show salaries as an operating expense. And the coach decides who he picks and what his strategy is. Makes a lot more sense than the current set up. If he can't deliver fire him. Mariyam 1 Link to comment
Vilander
Like every job there should be a performance review and unacceptable performance should mean being fired from the job. Fire Dravid, Chetan, mohanty, and kuruvilla. They are in competent. Dravid esp should be allowed to be a good boy in his home and asked not to come anywhere near an Indian team. singhvivek141
Competency is the key here, selectors/Coaching staff should be in touch with the modern style of cricket. If I remember correctly, Mohinder Amarnath mentioned in past that selectors should pass a minimum criteria of 25 Tests and/or 50 ODI's in International arena, currently only Joshi and Chetan qualifies that criteria. express bowling 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
T20 should be highly role-based/form-based less experience-based/reputation-based/seniority based. So different criterias should be applied. They shouldn't be hesitating to bring in a total stranger. England constantly pushes new players in. Here we have Rohit/DK both made debut in 2007.
