Axar/Kuldeep/Siraj (depending on conditions)

I agree that we need to start getting some new faces in, but this should have happened vs Bangladesh not in a huge series vs Aus

I would have liked to see Sarfaraz instead of Pujara and also Sen play vs Bang. I am not sure about handing players this series on debut

Rohit << Rohit is definitely opening in India.

Rahul ( I would pick Shaw but he has no chance). I will also not like a new opener with no experience for this series. Rahul stays.

Gill << Gill over Pujara. Not sure why Pujara came back last series.

Kohli

Iyer

Kishan (wk) << Pick him ahead of Bharat. Both Unknown at Test level. If Kishan succeeds we have a good choice for longer time.

Jadeja

Ashwin

Kuldeep

Shami

Siraj

Jaiswal, Sarfaraz etc. have no chance in a high profile series unless lot of injuries happen. I am happy enough if Pujara and Rahane are not visible in Indian test side for now. Rohit can be phased out next. Kohli unfortunately will select his time of departure as no one will drop him. Rahul is iffy as he is not consistent at all. Did reasonably well in England and SA but failed last series.

Pujara was given MOTS in BD. Not gonna get dropped

India will play two pacers. No way they ll make a pitch which will remotely suit pace bowling when wtc final place is on line. Missives have already gone to state association for preparation of turners and with BCCI s power of allocating money spinning but useless t20is and odi s no state association dare counter bcci ( which once Moron Shashank Manohar did in nagpur 2004/5 to spite Dalmiya who was a helm in bcci). So the bowlers will be

Ashwin

Jadeja

Kuldeep/ Axar ( depending on no of left handers)

Bumrah/Siraj/ Shami/ Umesh (swiggy combo meal of 2 out of 4 playing with no one bowler playing more than 3 tests)

That is unfortunate. Pujara somehow makes his stay count from time to time and even after the overall steady decline manages to keep his spot.  At one point his average was close to 60 and now below 45. Too many important games he went missing. Guess have to wait till his average goes below 40.

The selectors are useless jay shah makes selections. He made sure he kept Chetan sharma. Venkatesh Prasad was not selected probably he wouldn’t like his selections.

In India against a SENA team, I would go for Axar over Kuldeep, more because we need that batting depth and I dont think there is much different wicket taking wise between the two.

Your team WOULD beat Australia. This is why I hate Indian Cricket at times, because this team will never be selected. Kohli has to play, its like a stupid condition imposed on any mathematical formula in conjuring up the first XI.

We should "give up" on Bumrah being fit for the Aussie Test series, we will just wreck him and break him.  Im happy with Shami and Siraj as opening bowlers. Also think he wont be ready. Bumrah by name is first picked pace bowler, but Bumrah off an injury is NOT.

No idea who Jaiswal is but I always trust your judgement.

Real solid batting line up, with 1-8 all capable of scoring a century in Test cricket.  3,4,5,6 pound for pound on Indian wickets can match Aussie batsmen, if anything better than their batting lineup.

6,7,8 far superior to Australia's batting in Indian conditions.

Correct.

Absolutely ZERO chance he will be dropped.
