In today's day and age, vacations, trips, flights are planned and booked months in advance, not days or weeks. Its not a question of whether "first world tourists" can afford it or not. Its whether an organization sucking in multi-billion dollar profits can handle its affairs in a remotely reasonable and structured way. Weather is not in anybody's control, but given what has happened, this decision should have not been delayed so much. Its clear that this problem didn't come up overnight. This is a management and organizational failure, that once again, screws over the paying public. Both Indian and visiting. And its not a surprise either - BCCI's scheduling and planning always has been sub-par and to the inconvenience and cost of paying fans. The fact that pseudo-patriots somehow feel the need to defend such failures and lack of accountability claiming that its "chump change for foreign tourists" is.........telling. You may consider your super irritating priggishness as a virtue but your sanctimonious pontification will never become an acquired taste for most. Someone mentioned the cost of change of venue of foreign visitors and my " chump change " response was in regards to that. Nobody is justifying BCCI's lack of professionalism. If BCCI was run professionally, we would have 2 world beating teams that would mop up every ICC event given the resources in the country. Nobody here needs your judgement on their patriotism. cowboysfan Posted February 13, 2023 Author Posted February 13, 2023 is Indore a flat pitch? lets hope they have time to work on it before the match begins.

Jijjactly! Everything is seen as a party vs opposition here. BCCI incompetence is legendary, people want to bring in Jay Shah/Modi into this, as if it was wonderful during Sharad Pawar, Lalit Modi or Negi days. Nobody is defending Jay Shah and BCCI incompetence, but to make it look like as though a whole lot of foreign tourists are impacted majorly. This kind of foreigner acceptance syndrome is the crux of the issue. When India used to travel in the 70s, home boards used to book our players in motels and B&Bs, while even decent five star hotels for foreigners would be ridiculed by all of their media. It is an irritant to change plans, it is unexplainable what they were doing so far waiting for the grass to grow. In b4, somebody could bring in a retribution angle for HP to vote for Congress and Amit Sa is out to get them and embarrass them Edited February 13, 2023 by coffee_rules

It'll be great for our bowling, relatively low bounce & small boundaries - not much turn either, so our oldies at the top can hopefully score some big runs

BCCI as usual clowns... To schedule it there in the first place at a place where renovation is going on or are getting delayed due to poor weather. Means they had no idea wth was going on... Hence schedule change at last moment. You can't really schedule tests in Dharamshala then, only late March/early April or Sep/Oct would be possible & the weather can still play a spoilsport in the mountains! It's actually a good thing they moved it, don't want weather to ruin the game & the temps -I'm sure Oz could even pick 4 quicks there if the pitch was hard Lone Wolf 1

Throw in Kuldeep to recreate the magic he did last time. Aussies get to play Phaaast Lance Morris. We may have got a classic.
R!TTER Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I would've liked it if it was the last game of the series & we secured the win by then, as it is Indore is much more in our favor. If it weren't for the overrated WTC I wouldn't mind 4 games up north. But we really need to crush Oz by at least 3 wins here.

Its clear BCCI doesnt care about fans in stadiums esp for Tests. They know indians are fanatics and will stadiums for ODI and T20 matches so they dont have to do much, Tests not many people go so their concern isnt for the fans but for their TV rights obligations. coffee_rules and Lone Wolf 2

Its also frustrating that EXB and CA prepare their home Test series to ensure travelling fans are well looked after and have enough notice to arrange travel and hotels etc ( which contributes to the local economy) BCCI on the other hand doesn't finalise things 3/4 weeks in advance ( WIPL as an example) and rush into things- their last concern is having a good experience for all fans- Home and away in the stadiums. No wonder no foreign fans come to India to watch their teams play but Indians can go anywhere and everywhere to watch matches Lone Wolf 1

We all saw how rain played a vital role in deciding two world cups. 2019 and 2021 ICC test final. You cannot preditct weather, BCCI are clowns but we have to give them a pass on this issue. Apples and oranges. The ground would be ready and there is a reserve day. Rain can come any day and spoil a game but ground not being ready with all the time taken and shifted at last moment is way different vijaydude 1

Look how they market when England tours over there knowing it is a massive boost to tourism & local economy. BCCI is just expert in wasting invaluable resources & have zero accountability. Worse than sarkari institutions.
Lone Wolf Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Also shocking is I find more English Aussie fans touring Sri lanka... There is always a large contingent whenever Galle holds a Test match. Cricinfo's number suggested biggest touring party for the series was supposed to be in Dharamsala. Already we don't get many overseas fans visiting & we pull up such stunts. No wonder local Indians also prefer to watch it on telly. BCCI is lucky it is operating in a big populous country. It would have gone bankrupt in Pakistan or even Bangladesh.

If the ground is not ready. The state board should be responsible, they gave them time to do it but they could not get it ready.Should BCCI been more proactive with ground progress then answer is yes. IMO , BCCI tried to do right thing by giving HPCA all the time they need to get the ground ready.. Edited February 15, 2023 by putrevus

It is not easy for BCCI to shift the venue just like that also, they have lot of issues to deal with also logistically too for changing the venue.
