D’sala is the most picturesque stadium in Ind.

If the ground was getting upgraded (new drainage and stuff) maybe, some due diligence was required to see its progress before picking it as one of the venues.

Why don't they hold high profile series in marquee venues like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta, Chennai, Bangalore instead of smaller venues.

yep.to us the BG trophy is the biggest test series,i would limit it to 6-7 venues only.let the smaller cities have other matches.

Marquee Tests (Aus, Eng, SA) should be held at 5/6 major venues ( Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Bengaluru) and the other test series can be rotated around the other Tier 2 cities.

Eden gardens is a must. The memory of 2001 series  should be celebrated there every series. Also chennai has produced a lot of magical contests between India and Australia. 1987, 1998, 2001

Dharmshala should be a regular test venue. It has it's own charm.

I agree. Give it a world class infrastructure if it doesn't have and make it a regular test venue.

It’s really baffling that BCCI is yet to figure out marquee (read: Easily accessible) stadia to host test matches, if they are serious about having high attendance for these games. Metro cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur and Eden Garden should be our nominated test venues.

Having said that, these stadia should not get to host any T20i and to an extent any non-WC ODI matches to ensure others get to enjoy the cake as well.

Damn it! Was looking forward to the Dharamshala test. Easily the best looking stadium in the country and one of the best in the world.

Also the pitch was great for everyone last time we played Aus over there.
