At Arun Jaitley Stadium :

Avg 1st innings score = 342

Avg 2nd innings score = 316

Avg 3rd innings score = 237

Avg 4th innings score = 165

What an extraordinary advantage Australia has winning the toss.

India need atleast a 120 runs lead in the 1st innings.

This pitch is going to be terrible on day 3. And a nightmare on day 4.  This test is not going to day 5.

I'd say 150-200 to be on the safer side, anything less & it will be 50/50 for us in the last innings! A target over 100 could well be far too challenging for the chumps in top 6 :whack3:

I have a feeling that the much reviled KLPD is going to come to the party - part of me doesn't even want him to, at this point.

I think unless the top 3 get us past 150 odd, we will not be able to put up a proper lead and things will get......interesting.

Have to take atleast 100 run lead

Im not sure thats enough, India must look to get 150+

I dont trust KL Kohli and Pujara in the 4th innings.

if we get 100 run lead aussies will just crumble like Nagpur.we need a collective effort this time rather than contributions from 3 guys.

Really need one of Kohli, KL and Pujara to just deliver one good knock and hope the rest deliver with their "normal" contributions to win this match.

Its asking a lot, KL looks ready to be dismissed inside the first session.

Thank God Axar and Ashwin saved us from getting destroyed.  Odds are we still end up getting smashed in this test match.  The cost of carrying an underperforming top order has finally come due.

Correct.

When and if Axar Jaddu and Ash all fail with the bat, we shouldnt be upset at all. They have saved this team too many times. The blame for this loss has to be all on the batsmen.

Writing is on the wall.  Australia have come out swinging and they deserve to be in the driver's seat now.  Can't even blame the bowlers.  Batsmen needed to put a lead on the board - toss was worth at least 50 runs here if not more.

When a team keeps carrying passengers, its going to cost them at some point.
