Perfect palindrome!

How many other cricketers can boast of this?

Naman (Ojha)

(Arun) Lal

also the underrated spinner rangy nanan from WI who I saw

Posted

In the current Aussie ODIs setup they have

Cameron green seam bowler + power hitter

Mitchell Marsh seamer + hard hitter

Glenn Maxwell spin bowler + heavy hitter

Marcus stoinis medium.pacer + heavy hitter.

Compared to this our indian team looks like a joke.

Don't think Australia will be playing all of them. This series is just to test their all rounders. They will play 3 quicks + Green. Marsh makes it as a pure opener and doesn't bowl much anyway. I think Stoinis won't make it since Green is a better option.

The real advantage for them is that guys like Maxwell(primarily), Marnus, Smith can chip in with overs while we have no batter who can do that.

When was the last time Marnus and Smith bowled in an odi?

You're right. They play mostly in conditions that don't aid spin. But they still have Maxwell.

Also, they have a plethora of seam allrounders unlike us. So  even if they want to play an extra spinner, they can just drop a pacer, play a specialist spinner and rely on seam allrounders

5,6,7 is match winning positions in odi no one likes. Rohit sharma also switched to opening and has stat padded, we will  only see loi team doing well once rohit and kohli goes.

I don't think bowling would be problem for us in India.Spinners will be effective so need for fast bowling allrounders will not be much.

They have seam allrounders but that is a recent development. For long time only Mitchell Marsh was their allrounder and he was playing all formats even though he was not that good.

Green is like gold, players like him don't come around very often.

I think he should bat down the order and play more responsibly assuming Dhoni's role. I don't think him losing his wicket at the top is helpful for us. Against Bangladesh injured Rohit was more dangerous down the order.  Let the young guns go hard at the top. IF it comes off just capitalize on the start. If it doesn't recalibrate your approach and play sensibly.

Three spinners, three all-rounders is the best combo going further. Today, the bowling depth was good. Washington can replace Jaddu to make it more diverse.

All rounders in one dayers have a different definition because requirement of a batsman is different in one dayer. Acceleration skills, strike rotation skills. Cannot be stuck at one end being unable to rotate strike and unable to hit big. That is not all rounder. That is no rounder. I don't consider guys who cannot power hit just barely bat without getting out is an all rounder. That is useless.

This has been going on since the champions trophy days. One-dimensional nature of the unit.  They never addressed it. For a change under-19 world cup winning team had plethora of all rounders who india could use.

they won't move down the order... it will cost them their runs and go against the image of them being top-order players

His hatrick of world cup humiliation will complete. Atlleast Kohli put "gumbaloda govinda" in 2011 world cup lol Rohit has no such record other than 5 IPL trophies. I don't think he has enough motivation.

So our finisher Pandya escapes all the blame. When will this guy take the mantle of senior player .He could have finished the game today.

Why blame the one guy who actually made an impact on the match. He was easily the best bowler for us  and also 40 off 40 on that wicket was fine.  Blame goes to opening bowlers,  KL and the other "allrounders" .
