Australia is going to surpass England in England

Well England is missing the magnificent all omniscient and intimidating Ollie Robinson.  How can they win with such an effective weapon not present? Let us see if they can make do with the pitiful Mark Wood.

Nah you cannot do that, who will open. If Crawley is not good, they need to get another opener.

They could always go back to Rory Burns or the infallible Haseeb Hameed :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Or their best pick would be to bring back steady batsman "Mr. Extras".

Root failed in 3 innings in a row. Must come good in next innings to save the ashes, Stokes cannot be a hero everytime

Root has to try hitting the ball. Nudging, pushing, glancing works against India - a little harder against Aus.

India needs to properly school Pandya by backing grooming seaming allr ounders. Someone like Hangarkekar or Raj Bawa.

I can see Pandua not liking any challenge to his place

Hanga is more of a bowling AR,Bawa is a genuine AR

Bawa's path will be thorn laden

Yup. Lyon couldn't separate Vihari and Ashwin for 43 overs at the SCG a wicket known for spin. They didn't drop him next match. Next match he couldn't dismiss rookie Sundar/Thakur and also later Pant. They lost. They didn't drop him. He played 100 tests in a row. Ash was dropped 6 tests in a row in England.

because we had jaddu playing.  there is space only for one spinner.  Lyon was their one spinner.  our one spinner is jaddu.

Fast bowler are not required in India. We can win easily with 4 spinners without needing reverse swing.

England bowl spin through Ali and Root. There specialist spinners arent any better so not needed.Even they used to play Leach not long ago.

If not spinner, you need a variety in pace attack atleast. Our all 4 seamers were similar skiddy pacers who leak runs if not taking wickets.

On a wicket like Oval which assists spin. Spinner can bowl long spell too to give rest to pacers.

that was not a typical oval pitch. it was a green track.  once there is grass, spinners go out of the picture. oval is closest to the Aussie pitches in India.  it is nowhere a spin friendly pitch that is just a perception.

Only way Ashwin can play in SENA on seam friendly pitches if we have a seam bowling alrounder who ahs the ability to bat at 6 and score runs and bowl 8-10 overs a day in a test match.  Because we do not have that kind of player, we play Jaddu at 6 and four seamers, one of them a bowling alrounder while requirement is of a batting seam alrounder who is reliable with the bat. if we had that, ashwin would have played instead of Thakur and bat at 8 and that played had played instead of Jadeda and bat at 6.

you need a balanced attack.if pacers do well ,spinners can come into play on 4-5th day

Fast bowlers don't win games in India on their own, still they play.

how many matches spinners won us on day 4-5 in SENA. daye 4-5 hardly matters in SENA.  Pitches dont help spinners even on day 5.  Even on day 5, oval pitch was better than Indian day 1 pitches.

Different team different pitche rolled out? What did Ali do in India other than clean bowling Kohli

This was the oval. no sane team was going to play two spinners on this pitch. Even Aussies played only one spinner while they played three spinners in India.

Shami and Umesh averages 23 odd in test matches in India. Indian fast bowlers have helped India won many tests when spinners have struggled because Indian spinners need dust bowls to be effective. Ishant was MOS in 2008 Aus tour to India.  Zaheere was MOS same year against England.

That is because Travis head can bowl. Labu can bowl, Smith can bowl if needed.  With overwhelming number of left handers you have to back your best spinner who is good against this set of batsmen and against left handers. Jadeja is an all rounder. On a green pitch if your three bowlers can't do zilch wy do you think 4th bowler do anything? If anything on a helpful pitch 4th seamer is underbowled.

Check how many seamers were used by South Africa here
